Eric McCormack may get a chance to show us the funny again, with a starring role in an untitled ABC comedy pilot from Tad Quill (Scrubs). McCormack would play a heart surgeon and new dad, while Reno Wilson (Blind Justice) is his best bud, a contractor.
Cast as their wives are Jolie Jenkins (Shasta McNasty) and Constance Zimmer (Entourage), respectively.
Theoretically, this new comedy is a "second position" situation for McCormack, meaning ...

The cast of The Man of Your Dreams, NBC's sitcom pilot about a fella (Michael Trucco) who uses his prowess for prowling to help out relationship-challenged women, has been fleshed out. Constance Zimmer (Entourage) will play lothario Larry's single-mom sister; Christina Chang (CSI: Miami) will play a twice-divorced gold digger who "carries her shovel proudly" (says the Reporter); Ron Reaco Lee is Larry's Star Wars-obsessed protégé; and Justina Machado (Six Feet Under) will play an attractive and zaftig divorcée.Lotsa single characters on this show, yeah.

The ridiculous (in a good way) ratings for Disney Channel's multiple record-breaking weekend launch of High School Musical 2 was just the most spectacular reminder of what a great TV summer this has been — if you have cable. Not even a big hit like TNT's The Closer can match HSM2's numbers, and some of the best series, like AMC's mesmerizing Mad Men, are only doing so-so. But that's only to be expected given the glut of programming on many nights — including Thursdays, when Mad Men goes head-to-head with USA Network's latest clever breakout caper, Burn Notice. I thought my DVRs would get a break this summer. Didn't happen.Just look at the options weve had over the last few nights, including terrific new episodes of Burn Notice and Mad Men on Thursday. Im really enjoying Burn now that ex-spy Michael Weston is getting closer to the truth about how he was set up to be fired. And what can I say about Mad Men besides the word I used to start my initial review of th...

In this episode titled "Oleander," we gather for a meal at one of the hottest new eateries in L.A. The food is great, and the people are very cool. I love doing the group restaurant scenes because you get a nice taste pardon the pun of each of the characters and how they all relate to each other. Plus, when were not rolling we get to catch up and try our best to crack each other up. Melanie Paxson gets the award for the best, most embarrassing story. It didnt happen to her but to a friend of hers, and it took our breath away. All I can say is, it involved a girl, a guy and a city. Sad that I cant go into detail, but I fear Melanie might sue me. This is the thing about blogging... I start to write just for myself and then I realize millions of people are reading my blog. Millions! And I need to be really careful about what I write. Its very precious. I worked on Evan Almighty last summer and I loved when we were shooting, but I also loved when we...
