Christopher Judge Previews His Return to Stargate!

Less than a year after Stargate finished its 10-season run, Christopher Judge — who plays the muscle-bound alien Teal'c — is returning to the franchise on Stargate Atlantis (tonight at 10 pm/ET, Sci Fi). Judge talked to us about keeping up with a kid half his age, getting "back in the sandbox" and his new project. TV Guide: So how did your visit to Stargate Atlantis come about?Christopher Judge: It's something that the fans have talked about for a long time — probably since the Ronon character [played by Jason Momoa] first appeared. When they approached me about it, I said, "Sure." Then they said, "You'll have a few fight scenes with Ronon, because the fans would love that." And I said, "Well, you know Jason is almost 20 years younger than Chris." I had seen his previous fight work and I didread more

True to the language of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell - Tale Heart" . Obession leads to madness. Madness leads to murder. Yet the killer feels he is quite sane. You be the judge. Scenes transition from glorious black and white to color in this interpretation of the macabre. The integrity of Poe's verse is preserved and there is no visual depiction of graphic violence in this film festival favorite. Buy this Edgar Allan Poe Video here. Stargate SG-1 Fans: The Truth Is Out There (in March)

Fans of Stargate SG-1 will get the long-awaited series' finale on March 11, 2008, when MGM Home Entertainment releases Stargate: The Ark of Truth. "We wanted to end the show without really ending it," says the movie's writer/director/producer Robert C. Cooper. "Even if the series is no longer on Sci Fi [Channel], we want it to continue, so we decided to make a movie that wraps up a lot of the big loose ends." The DVD (suggested retail price is $26.98), which winds up the war between Stargate and the world-gobbling Ori, includes commentary by Christopher Judge (Teal'c) and Cooper, as well as a featurette. A second movie is due out on DVD later in '08. — Ileane Rudolph read more

Unending

Well, its all come down to this: 10 seasons. Over 200 episodes. Adventure. Laughter. Tears. And as this is the last episode of our journey together, I will make this my last TV Guide blog entry. Thanks be to all of you who have grown with us over the years. It has been a true pleasure, and one I’m sure I will not see the likes of again. The years have gone by so fast… so fast. So much has changed, in my life, and in the lives of those around me. And I’m sure of yours too.I was reminded as recently as yesterday how much can happen in 10 years. I shared a conversation on the plane with Katee Sackoff (of Battlestar Galactica fame — for those living under boulders) who enlightened me that she used to watch the early seasons of Stargate with her father… when she was 17. Holy crap. That aged me.I was a single boy of 26 years when we took our first steps through the gate, and now I speak to you as a father of three at 36 years old. It really does fly, doesn... read more

Hatin'

Wow. I have not gotten into so much trouble for not completing my homework assignment since grade 9. You have no idea how many people have been riding me like Zorro for not keeping up with this blog. Thanks for caring. "I'mmmmmm back!" Well, not to make any excuses, but we have been shooting the second SG-1 movie, Continuum, for the last three weeks and things have been a bit hectic. Not to mention the fact that the first shooting week overlapped with my wife's last week of filming her movie on Vancouver Island, so I was working during the day and being both mother and father at night. This wouldn't have been that much of a chore if my daughter Mia hadn't gotten a bad cold in Victoria, and happened to keep both her and I up through the entire first night before filming. Zero sleep is not the best way to kick off the work week. "Tough darts, Batman." Anywho, the filming for Continuum has been great: frozen sets, Air Force F-15s and Richard Dean Anderson's return all crammed inside tw... read more

Stargate Movies Deemed Ready for Takeoff

Farscape, I got. Farscape, I liked. Farscape, I miss. But Stargate SG-1? Um, no. Nonetheless, MGM Television has given the green light to a pair of TV-movies based on its hit sci-fi series. The first, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, will wrap up the main story line from the show's last two seasons. The second, Stargate: Continuum, will kick off a new adventure. On board are leads Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge and Michael Shanks, and Farscape alumni Ben Browder and Claudia Black. I'll say it again: Farscape, I miss. read more
