Heroes "flying man" Adrian Pasdar will take a different leap of faith this winter as the book writer for Marcus Hummon's new musical Atlanta, at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse, says Playbill.com. Grammy-winner Hummon has penned hits for a host of Nashville acts, including Mrs. Pasdar's (aka Natalie Maines') Dixie Chicks. Other Hollywood hotshots gracing the Geffen next season include Emmy winners Christine Lahti (in the West Coast bow of Wendy Wasserstein's final play, Third) and Laurie Metcalfe (in Quality of Life), and Annette Bening (in The Female of the Species).... Question: Do you think Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip will make it? I can't even express how much I love it, which is a little strange because I typically reserve this passion for shows more like Lost, Alias or Buffy. I love the smart insider comments like: "Can we have this conversation walking?" or "She broke up with you because she didn't want to share your time with the girls of Delta Gamma" (which killed me because I happen to be a Delta Gamma and so is Christine Lahti). Michael Ausiello made me a bit nervous when he said he didn't think the show would make it. I heard so much hype about it since last spring that I kind of expected it to be a smash hit, and now I feel like it's an underdog because of shows like The Bachelor.
Answer: It depends on what you mean by "make it." I honestly believe (cockeyed optimism?) that Studio 60 will "make it" through the season. So much is invested in the show that not giving it an entire season to prove itself seems like a terrible waste. The fact

Poor Christine Lahti. You'd think being married to a former executive producer of The West Wing would guarantee her a role in any of his future projects. Not necessarily. According to the Emmy-winning actress, her husband, Thomas Schlamme, didn't initially see a part for her in Jack & Bobby (debuting Sunday). That's his new WB drama about a conflicted single mom raising two boys — one of whom is destined to be president of the United States. Here, the 54-year-old Chicago Hope alumna talks about her role as future first mother Grace McCallister, and how she persuaded her husband to keep it all in the family.
TV Guide Online: In the pilot episode, Grace smokes pot. Any reservations about playing a professor, a woman of influence, who uses marijuana?Christine Lahti: It's probably not good for her. Certainly not for the kids. No, [I don't have any] reservations. In fact, one of the things I loved about her the most is that she'
