Chris Makepeace (Meatballs) plays downed American pilot Lt. Robert, held prisoner in a Japanese hamlet during World War II after a village elder named Fukushima (Pat Morita) saves him and his buddy from bloody executions. Over time, Robert develops a rapport with his captors and an interest in Japanese culture.
