The Good Guys - Colin Hanks, Bradley Whitford
The Good Guys (Friday, 9/8c, Fox)
Not a great week for quirky crime-fighters. First FX gives the wonderful Terriers the boot, and now we come to the end of the line for Fox's genial but low-rated buddy-cop spoof. We will miss Bradley Whitford as gone-to-seed Dallas detective Don Stack, especially his bushy 'stache. Chris Klein, meanwhile, is the series lead's best buddy in The Captain, which has also added comic Al Madrigal as a janitor. Ricki Lake is the mom in The Middle, ABC's comedy about a lower-middle-class family in the Midwest. Michael McKean is a low-level congressman's chief of staff in ABC's The Thick of It. Penn Badgley (John Tucker Must Die) has joined the CW's Gossip Girls.

He's in the No. 1 holiday movie (Night at the Museum), his brilliant The Office has made a successful transition to American TV, he has written and performed in an episode of The Simpsons, and yet Ricky Gervais continues to play the born loser. Bless his (and our) lucky stars.
In Extras, an HBO-BBC collaboration now in its second season of wickedly biting showbiz satire (Sundays at 10 pm/ET), Gervais plays the hapless Andy Millman, a would-be actor of questionable talent and limitless desperation, who for years has been an envious bystander on movie sets. This setup allows movie stars and other celebrities (from Kate Winsle
