Fox has reduced the order of its midseason comedy The Goodwin Games from 13 episodes to seven, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
A lack of room on Fox's Tuesday comedy block is the reason for the change, according to a network rep. Fox recently ordered 24 episodes of Raising Hope, New Girl and The Mindy Project, along with 19 episodes of Ben and Kate. The seven Goodwin Games episodes will air sometime in the spring.
The single-camera comedy, from How I Met Your Mother executive producers Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and Chris Harris, stars Becki Newton, Scott Foley and TJ Miller as estranged siblings who reconnect when they stand to inherit a fortune after their father's death.
Things are about to heat up — literally — in this week's episode of True Blood when Terry (Todd Lowe) and his war buddy Patrick (Scott Foley) go in search of one of their comrades.
Though Patrick and Terry's story has been off to a slow start this year, it will pick up quickly once we learn what happened to their squad in Iraq through flashbacks. This, of course, is the catalyst for their friend Brian Eller (Brian Geraghty) apparently burning down everyone's homes — though he may not actually be to blame. So we're all on the New York street on the CBS Radford lot in Studio City shooting a How I Met Your Mother promo that's a parody of CSI, which they tell me is a popular show. We're all exhausted and not quite sure what we're doing. My sense is that on an hourlong procedural show, the hours are much worse but your face never has to change its expression. So that's a big up. Changing facial expressions is exhausting and overrated. They're setting up a shot of a corpse's feet right now. We're all pretty exhausted the night's supposed to go very late and we have an early call. We haven't been officially picked up for a third season yet, but we're all seeing it as a good sign that CBS is having us do this. I'm going to have each cast member say something... get a little guest-blogging going.Me: Hey, guys.
