Survivor's Holly: I Just Left Fabio in the Background

For many on Survivor: Nicaragua, it was easy to overlook Fabio Birza. He was fit, but not nearly as strong as Ben Henry and Chase Rice, and he spent 39 days on the beach perfecting the role of clueless surfer dude. But forgetting about Fabio turned out to be Holly Hoffman's biggest mistake. After he won his third immunity challenge and guaranteed himself a spot in the final three, Sash Lenahan and Chase were able to make stronger cases for themselves and Holly was the last person voted out. The 44-year-old swimming coach from Eureka, S.D., spoke with TVGuide.com about her big mistake, why she changed her vote and which on-air moments her family...read more

Survivor's Chase Says He Drove Himself Crazy with Wishy-Washy Game Play

With his Southern charm and strapping body, Chase Rice was one of Survivor: Nicaragua's players to watch. The only thing standing in his way? Himself. Although he surrounded himself with manipulative allies like Brenda Lowe and Sash Lenahan, Chase was far from skilled when it came to strategizing and became known for his constant wavering and indecisiveness. One minute he was with Brenda, the next he was voting her out. One minute he picked ...read more

Survivor Winner Fabio: Acting Dumb "Was the Only Game I Could Play"

The smartest thing Jud "Fabio" Birza ever did was play dumb. It made for great TV and a hilarious nickname. And more importantly, it allowed him to remain underestimated by everyone on Survivor: Nicaragua. However, when Fabio's clueless façade left him out of Chase Rice, Matthew "Sash" Lenahan and Holly Hoffman's alliance, he physically stepped up with back-to-back-to-back immunity challenge wins and secured his spot in final three. Sitting next to Chase and Sash, two players known for breaking multiple alliances, Fabio killed them with kindness. The 21-year-old student from Venice, Calif., talked with TVGuide.com about his secret to success, what he hopes to do with the money and whether he plans to hang on to his new nickname.

Survivor: Nicaragua Winner Revealed

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals the winner of Sunday night's Survivor: Nicaragua finale.

After 39 days of sparse food and bad weather, Survivor: Nicaragua came down to the final five competitors. In a season that started out with old versus young, older players Dan Lembo and Holly Hoffman remained against Chase Rice, Matthew "Sash" Lenahan and Jud "Fabio" Birza.

The first player voted out during the two-hour finale was... read more

Survivor's Jane on Her "Crushing Blow" and How Her Age Held Her Back

Thanks to her candid nature, surprisingly tough physical presence and resourcefulness (she started a fire with reading glasses), Jane Bright gave Survivor: Nicaragua's older tribe a fighting chance. Those attributes combined with personal tragedy (she lost her husband to cancer in 2009) made her a huge threat to her competition as someone the jury would surely vote for to win the million dollars. However, Jane learned she was a big threat a little too late and was booted from the game in the penultimate episode. The 56-year-old dog trainer spoke with TVGuide.com about why she was so disappointed in Chase Rice, what kept her from aligning with Fabio Birza and why she thinks she wouldn't have the $1,000,000 prize. (Hint: It's a... read more

Survivor’s Benry on His Big Blindside: I Thought I Had Chase in My Back Pocket

With dominant, reality TV-friendly personalities NaOnka Mixon, Holly Hoffman and Jane Bright — oh, and the (faux?) cluelessness of Fabio Birza — on the screen, Ben "Benry" Henry flew under the radar for the first half of Survivor: Nicaragua. But as soon as his impressive physical skills in challenges became a threat to the equally strong Chase Rice, Benry was blindsided by Chase and his alliance faster than you can say "hidden immunity idol." The 24-year-old club promoter talked with TVGuide.com about how his competitive nature did him in, why he thought he had Chase in his "back pocket" — and last week's quitters... read more

Survivor's Brenda on Her Sweet Friendship with NaOnka and Why She Refused to Scramble

From the start of Survivor: Nicaragua, Brenda Lowe seemed to have it all: tight alliances, great physical prowess and a talent for manipulative mind games. But after she showed her true power over the tribe in last week's vote, the target moved to Brenda's back and ally NaOnka Mixon jumped ship to save herself. "She was my main alliance," Lowe told TVGuide.com of her former partner-in-crime. "I trusted her 1,000 percent." The 27-year-old business owner talked with TVGuide.com about NaOnka's sweet side (apparently she has one!), the truth about her relationship with Chase Rice, and why Jeff Probst got to her at... read more

Survivor’s Shannon Says Show Edited Gay Comments

The slip-ups on Survivor are usually involve alliances, blind sides and hidden immunity idols, but the La Flor tribe's Shannon Elkins got himself in much deeper water during his final tribal council. After arguing with former ally Chase Rice, Shannon turned to tribemate Sash Lenahan. "Hey, I'm gonna get this out of the way right now," viewers heard him say. "Are you gay"? Shannon says the show edited him to take his words out of context, but it's clear he said something about homosexuality from the argument that followed: Shannon and Sash debate who's had "more beautiful girlfriends" and Shannon says Sash's city, New York, is "full of... read more
