The King and I -- This visual and musical masterpiece features Yul Brynner's Academy Award-winning performance, an unforgettable Rodgers and Hammerstein score, and brilliant choreography by Jerome Robbins. It tells the true story of an Englishwoman, Anna Leonowens (Deborah Kerr), who comes to Siam as schoolteacher to the royal court in the 1860's. Though she soon finds herself at odds with the stubborn monarch (Brynner), over time, Anna and the King stop trying to change each other and begin to understand one another.

Set in Warsaw, Poland, during and after the German invasion of 1939, this comedy-drama mixed dedicated Nazis, ham actors, and earnest pilots and resistance fighters into a surprisingly (and, in 1942, uncomfortably) entertaining topical satire.

Legendary screen icon Clark Gable ("Gone With the Wind") stars as a sea captain who is caught in a romantic triangle and who has to fight off modern-day pirates. Co-starring the Blonde Bombshell Jean Harlow ("Dinner at Eight"), Oscar-winner Rosalind Russell ("Auntie Mame") and Oscar-winner Wallace Beery ("The Champ").

Greer Garson ("Madame Curie") earned an Oscar as an English housewife whose family struggles to survive WWII. Powerful war-time drama was nominated for 11 Oscars, and won seven, including Best Picture, Director and Script. Teresa Wright ("The Best Years of Our Lives") received an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Co-stars Walter Pigeon ("How Green Was My Valley"), Dame May Whitty ("Gaslight"), and Henry Travers ("It's a Wonderful Life") all received Oscar-nominations.
