A New Coach and a New Threat! Make It Or Break It Heads to the Olympic Training Camp

If the Make It or Break It girls thought the road to Nationals was tough, wait until they enter the U.S. Olympic training center.  

When the ABC Family series returns, Kaylie (Josie Loren), Payson (Ayla Kell) and Lauren (Cassie Scerbo) are settling into their new digs as they fight to earn one of just five spots on the Olympic gymnastics team. But with a new and extremely tough coach, stiff competition that's whittled down throughout the season, and no one to lean on but each other, the threesome are in for a rude awakening. Make It or Break It's Cassie Scerbo Continues to be the Queen Bee in Teen Spirit

Playing snobby mean girl Amber Pollack in the ABC Family movie Teen Spirit was familiar territory for Make It or Break It star Cassie Scerbo.

"It's really fun to be a spicy character — it's never boring," Scerbo, who plays self-proclaimed "Queen of the Beam" Lauren Tanner on Make It or Break It, tells TVGuide.com.

There is, however, one big difference between Amber and Lauren: Amber is dead. The queen bee dies after a freak accident at prom. But in order for Amber to make it to heaven, an angel (Tim Gunn) says she must help Lisa (Lindsey Shaw), the most unpopular girl in school, become prom queen (as seen in the clip below).

For Make It or Break It's Cassie Scerbo, playing the mean girl is fun, but she's glad viewers will get to see a more vulnerable side to her character Lauren by the end of the season. "A lot of people look at her like she's so crazy, but she's crying out for love," the 20-year-old tells TVGuide.com. "By the end of the season people are going to understand Lauren a lot more." As Season 2 wraps up, teen gymnasts Lauren, Kaylie (Josie Loren), Payson (Ayla Kell) and Emily (Chelsea Hobbs) are getting closer to making their Olympic dreams come true, but there's no shortage of boy drama, serious health issues, and acts of betrayal at their training center, The Rock.
