Carly Patterson Fast Facts:

At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, she became the first American woman since Mary Lou Retton to capture the individual all-around gold medal.
Was a presenter at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards.
Graced the front of a special-edition box of Wheaties cereal.
In 2006, she published her autobiography, Carly Patterson: Be Strong.
Participated in the reality show Celebrity Duets in 2006. She performed a duet with Jesse McCartney.
Three years later, released her debut CD, Back to the Beginning.
Her song "Here I Am" was used to promote Make It or Break It, a TV series about teen gymnasts.
Named to the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame February 3, 2009—the day before her 21st birthday.
