It's hard to imagine Dallas without J.R. — a sentiment shared by many when Larry Hagman passed away last Thanksgiving, midway through production of the rebooted soap's second season. Even harder not to contemplate that sad future while watching TNT's two-hour premiere (Monday, 9/8c), where once again the veterans wipe the floor with the young whippersnappers. None more gleefully than Hagman, whose gaunt frailty can't mask the devilish glint beneath those statuesque eyebrows.
Bones begins its eighth season with lots of unanswered questions, but there's one in particular that many of the show's characters must ask this season: Is love enough?

"What we are trying to do this season is have everybody re-examining their relationships," executive producer Stephan Nathan tells TVGuide.com. "[Last season] everyone came together, everybody's relationships were solidified, and it was kind of a happy season. All of that got pulled apart at the end of the year, and now everybody is seeing the world in a new way." ...
All will not be forgiven when Bones returns this fall.
In the Season 7 finale, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) left Booth (David Boreanaz) in the dust to go on the lam with her former convict father Max (guest star Ryan O'Neal) after she was framed for murder by hacker/serial killer Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds). When the Fox drama's action picks up three months later this fall (Monday, Sept. 17 at 8/7c), Brennan will still be off the grid and Booth will be called to action to bring his baby mama home.

During Bones' seventh season, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) survived becoming a couple, cohabitation, and childbirth. But is their biggest test yet to come?
After Brennan was framed for murder by hacker/serial killer Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds) in the Season 7 finale, she took baby Christine and left Booth for parts unknown with her former convict father Max (guest star Ryan O'Neal). Although Brennan seemed to have a good reason — if she stays off the grid, she can perhaps prove her innocence without Pelant using his digital prowess against her — how will Booth feel about being abandoned?
