The ABC comedy has cast Edwin Hodge to play Wade opposite Busy Philipps' Laurie, TVLine reports. Wade is a soldier stationed in the Middle East, so expect Travis (Dan Byrd) to get involved to teach the long-distance lovers how to Skype.

"We decided it might be funny to say our cast is going to be on in the fall more than any other cast," executive producer Bill Lawrence told USA Today. The result is that his actors will appear in background roles on numerous shows before the Season 3 premiere.

Busy Philipps' life just got a little more hectic.The former Dawson's Creek star and husband Marc Silverstein have welcomed their first child together, People reports. Birdie Leigh Silverstein arrived Wednesday, weighing 9 lbs. 7 oz. and measuring 21 ½ in. long.Philipps, who's godmother to Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams' 2-year-old daughter Matilda, announced her pregnancy in January.In addition to Creek, the 29-year-old is well-known for her role on the short-lived Freaks and Geeks as "freak" Kim Kelly.
