Members of Papa Roach also commiserate with people suffering from song shell-shock. RuinedMusic.com is dedicated to the topic. (11.8.06)
The Lowlife Sinners hail from Glasgow, and they sound like a bare-knuckled street fight between The Almighty and Buckcherry. Of course, Warwick and the fellas would win that scrape, and they do here, as well, with an impressive muscle-over-sleaze quotient. The band formed last year after it’s principal raconteurs – the singularly named Fed and Jon – left their respective go-nowhere local bands, frustrated with the lack of full-on, tits-out rock n’ roll in Glasgow. Well, they certainly fixed that problem.
Singer/guitarist Jimmy G from Indiana lives in his van and spends his days writing songs and staring at a laptop figuring out how to best manage, market, and promote his band. Drummer Jimi Tassone engineered and produced their debut album ‘Savior Self’ and handles all recordings, production, and artwork. Tommy Balls is a bass virtuoso as well as the artist who designs and manages all the merchandise (t-shirts, logos, stickers, etc.) And lead guitarist Frank Guertin is in charge of all booking, setting up tours, benefits, etc, as well as all video and video editing projects for the band.
With a style and sound like the Foo Fighters, Buckcherry, and My Chemical Romance in a game of twister, Craving Strange combinds personal and musical backgrounds in metal, pop, rock, and alternative to create music that is intense, fun, diverse, and infectious at the same time. The songs are filled with great musicianship, instant hooks, catchy choruses, and driving rhythms, while lyrically being honest, thought provoking and emotional. The band manages to sound fresh and yet familiar without resorting to tired clichés.

In the late '60s it would have been hard to find a rock star who didn't have Suzette (Goldie Hawn) or Vinnie (Susan Sarandon) on his arm … or attached to his leg. But it's been more than two decades since The Banger Sisters earned their nickname, or even laid eyes on one another. Then when Suzette's world comes crashing down, she sets off in search of the one friend who might be able to rescue her, or at least give her a few thousand bucks. The reunion of The Banger Sisters is the collision of two women's worlds: one who's living in the past; one who's hiding from it. Together they learn the value of living in the moment. Academy Award®-winners Hawn (Cactus Flower) and Sarandon (Dead Man Walking) bring The Banger Sisters to life, with the help of Academy Award®-winner Geoffrey Rush (Shine), who plays Suzette's eccentric travel partner.
When a destitute former groupie hopes to score some cash from her old partner in crime, circumstances enable them to renew their friendship and move forward with their lives in a positive way.
