What's in the trunk? Pretty Little Liars fans will find out almost immediately in the Season 4 premiere.
"Within 30 seconds you'll know what's in the trunk," executive producer Marlene King tells TVGuide.com. "We usually have these big reveals in finales, but this is one of the first time we've had had a premiere with lots of answers."
When the ABC Family series wrapped up its third season, viewers watched as Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Aria (Lucy Hale) and nemesis Mona (Janel Parrish) were pulled out of a burning house by a shadowy figure that a few of the girls — and the audience — recognized as the dead former Queen Bee Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse). Pretty Little Liars is nearing its summer finale when one of 12 possible people will make the ultimate betrayal.
Although at the end of last season, it was finally revealed that Mona (Janel Parrish) was "A," there are still plenty of mysteries to be solved. First, there's the new person calling themselves "A" who continuously torments Aria (Lucy Hale), Emily (Shay Mitchel), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Hanna (Ashley Benson). Then there are the unsolved murders of Alison (Sasha Pieterse) and Maya (Bianca Lawson).
Alloy Entertainment, the company behind Gossip Girl, Pretty Little Liars and The Vampire Diaries, is producing a new nine-episode web series called Dating Rules From My Future Self, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The series stars Life Unexpected's Shiri Appleby as a 29-year-old who receives text messages to change her dating tactics from herself 10 years in the future. Taylor Kinney (The Vampire Diaries), Alison Becker (Parks and Recreation), Bryce Johnson (Pretty Little Liars) and Mircea Monroe (Episodes) will also make appearances.
In the Pretty Little Liars summer finale, viewers will finally get some answers about who killed Alison.
"Viewers will feel they're getting insight into the night Alison disappeared and who killed Alison," executive producer Marlene King tells TVGuide.com. "The jaw-dropping moments are those revelations."
But this is Pretty Little Liars, and King adds, "The finale answers more questions than any other finale we've ever done -- but it raises a few big questions."
