Woody learns that, when it comes to gift giving, it's not always the thought that counts. Unable to compete financially with Kelly's wealthy peers, Woody decides to give his girlfriend a special birthday gift: a song he's composed especially for her. But when he performs the piece at her birthday party, Kelly isn't exactly moved to tears. Accustomed to receiving elaborate presents, she doesn't understand the 'no gift' concept. Embarrassed, Woody leaves the party. At Cheers, Cliff introduces his newest invention--the beetabega, a cross between a beet and a rutabaga which no one even attempts to take seriously. Meanwhile, Rebecca decides it's time to dress for success and turns to Lilith for help in creating a fashion makeover that will give her the respect from the corporation that she deserves. Unfortunately, Rebecca's plan backfires when the company offers Lilith a position instead! Trying to save face and patch things up with Kelly, Woody spends his lifesavings on a pendant for her. He tries to explain to Kelly that he works hard for his money and, unlike her family and friends, does not have unlimited resources to draw from. She eventually understands and accepts Woody's love, but returns the pendant. watch
