The second season of Disney's hit series kicked off last night and already the title character has long-lost relatives crawling out of the woodwork. On this Friday's episode, the tween pop princess will come face-to-face with her late mom, played by Brooke Shields, in a series of dream sequences and flashbacks. Her first piece of otherworld advice? Always pack a spare set of tweezers. Reporting by Raven Snook

Apparently, like me, having managed to avoid Suddenly Susan almost entirely, NBC has tapped Brooke Shields to star in its hot-property pilot Lipstick Jungle, based on Candace Bushnell's novel about a trio of affluent Manhattan power mongers. The onetime Calvin Klein model will play a movie mogul/wife/mother. So I guess being scolded irrationally by Tom Cruise worked out pretty well for her.... In other casting news, well-preserved '90s relic Grant Show has landed the lead in CBS' '70s-set drama pilot Swingtown. Can a gig for Patrick Muldoon be far behind?

As exclusively spilled in a fresh Ausiello Report, Jennifer Aniston will be playing a lesbian when she guest-stars on gal pal Courteney Cox's Dirt. Mike has more on that, as well as some Heroes and 'Til Death (yes, 'Til Death) casting scoop. Brooke Shields draws the interest of Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer when she drops by Two and a Half Men on Feb. 5.

There are two types of NipTuck dream sequences The first is the kind used on most TV shows when a character is asleep and is dreaming or having a nightmare and we get to watch what theyre dreaming about The second is the kind weve been seeing more and more on this show and it usually involves Christian or Sean They either have a daydream or a hallucination theyre just envisioning someone in the room and that certain someone talks to them and sometimes Christian or Sean talk back This happens to Sean quite often because of Escobar which confuses him when its the real thing Tonight it was Christian who had an ongoing daydream involving a collection of his former loves and lusts mostly lusts of course Not surprising since Christian seems to finally be in love and is moving in with his new fiance Michelle so he is literally saying goodbye to his infamous bedroom and figuratively saying goodbye to the women hes bedded in the room I was impress

Since his last appearance on her talk show nearly ruined his career (not to mention a perfectly good sofa), it isn't surprising that Tom Cruise chose not to ask Oprah Winfrey to attend his and Katie Holmes' Saturday wedding. "It's not that I'm not going," Oprah spins it for Extra. "It's that they had a limited number of people that they could invite. [But] that's fine. I don't get invited to everyone's wedding, [and] I don't invite [Tom and Katie] to everything I do." Adding insult to injury, the New York Post reports that Brooke Shields, of all people, made the cut! In further nuptial news, while Liz Smith whispers that there will be no media at the event, the groom's flack assures her, "That isn't to say that it won't be covered — pictures and stories will appear, but none of [the coverage] will be sold, for charity or otherwise."

Scott Porter, Friday Night Lights
When you think of NBC's Friday Night Lights, you probably immediately think that it is a show for football fanatics. This new drama (which despite its title airs Tuesday nights at 8 pm/ET), however, really delves into the lives of the assorted people in the community who are affected in some way by the high-school football team, from the coach's wife to the fallen quarterback who was paralyzed during the first game of the season. TV newcomer Scott Porter stars as Jason Street, the attractive and popular QB who is currently confined to his hospital bed, if not life in a wheelchair. TVGuide.com spoke with Porter, who recently costarred in the energetic off-Broadway hit Altar Boyz, to find out if Jason still has all the right moves when it comes to his cheerleader-girlfriend, Lyla.

Well Sean certainly got his wish His conscience in the form of Escobar Robert LaSardo told him to kill Monica suggesting he slit her throat or gas her Then poof A bus ran into her and killed her I screamed No f---ing way while my roommate Jason shouted Sooooo Mean Girls Its those shocker scenes I enjoy the most on this show Dylan Walsh did a fantastic job showing how frustrated Sean was getting and Jennifer Hall played the perfect psycho Monica morphed into Alex Forrest from Fatal Attraction when she threatened to tell Julia about their affair and how very Hand That Rocks the Cradle-esque to have Sean walk in on her with baby Conors mouth on her nippleWho knew thered come a day that both Sean and Christian would have women obsessed with them I think I liked Dr Faith Wolper Brooke Shields better when she seemed tougher and not into Christian I was hoping she was just using him for the sex a few weeks ago but no Faiths a diagnosed sexual compulsive and

Can you believe its been eight and a half months since we last saw a new episode of this show Thats more than twice the amount of time we have to wait to see the average show when it goes on hiatus But as we all know NipTuck is no average show Was it worth the wait Absolutely and I of course will tell you just why First of all you knew it had to be good since Ryan Murphy came back to write and direct it Oh wait a minute I take that back Ryan wrote and directed last seasons lackluster finale the one where we found out what a shocker not that Quentin was the Carver Ugh But since the C word was never mentioned in tonights entire hour and 10 minutes the actual episode was under an hour but with all those movie promos and ads Im glad I added in time at the end via my TiVo Im going to cut or rather nip Ryan some slack here And speaking of Ryan how many of you are looking forward to seeing his new fli
