Jericho's Brad Beyer on His TV Sister's Death and the Show's Future

In last week's episode of Jericho (Tuesdays at 10 pm/ET, CBS), "Oversight," a gun-toting Bonnie Richmond (Shoshannah Stern) went out in a blaze of glory, fighting to save her family home. The image of Bonnie's big brother, Stanley — played by Brad Beyer — cradling his sister's lifeless corpse was a heartbreaker. Here, Beyer shares his thoughts on how Bonnie's death will propel Season 2's final episodes, the fabulous Alicia Coppola (who plays Mimi), a Jericho movie and why violence can sometimes be, well, funny. TVGuide.com: To paraphrase the South Park guys: "They killed Bonnie!"Brad Beyer: I know. It was unbelievable. TVGuide.com: What did you think when you read of Bonnie's fate?Beyer: I was very sad. Working with Shoshannah Stern has been one of the best experiences that I read more

Jericho Preview: Nice-guy Stanley Visits the Dark Side

Fans of CBS' Jericho are definitely not going to want to miss tonight's new episode, airing at 8 pm/ET. During the country's state of desperation, it's not unusual that emergencies arise on an hourly basis, and this week is no different. It's up to the leaders to help the Kansas town survive another day, and even resident nice guy Stanley Richmond — played by Brad Beyer — toughens up to lend a hand. TVGuide.com spoke with Beyer about his character's friendly disposition, and how that might change in upcoming episodes. Tight-lipped with regard to the big bombshells, Beyer couldn't divulge too much, but shares enough to get us excited for the rest of the season — and hope for the show's renewal. TVGuide.com: Stanley cracks me up, which is great, because everything is so serious on this show. He throws in some lighte read more

October 4, 2006: Leader of the Pack

OK, forget the onion. This show has more layers than a bad day on Project Runway. I am completely wrapped up in Jake and all that comes with him — his past with Emily, his ability to work a black box, his leadership skills that pour out during panic situations while his personal issues sit on the back burner, waiting to be reheated.Eric's affair is bothersome but puts some much-needed faults into his expected perfection. But there seem to be a lot of things that aren't what they seem on the outside... Gray (Michael Gaston) and Shepp's secret about the "heart attack" in the mine (I'm still not convinced they just let him die); Skylar's real personality hidden under the safe, mean girl she pretends to be; Robert Hawkins, his U-Haul and the cement-filled wheelbarrow in his basement. I felt bad for his wife and kids, wanting to join the rest of the town at the cookout but confined to their house for reasons unknown to us. What was he moving in the U-Haul? How did he know the Asian ... read more
