U2 in Goes 3D

Bono by John Stanton/WireImage.com

We’ve decided that when Bono puts his mind to something, good things happen. The result this time? U23D. The Irish rock stars have taken their God-like status to the next level by bringing their music not just to film, but to three dimensional film (complete with the glasses). So what are they calling this at their Sundance premiere? The first “live-action 3D concert documentary.” Quite frankly, giving everybody a “front row seat” is their best idea yet considering tickets tend to sell out in 3.2 minutes (not that we’re bitter we got shut out of their last tour or anything). Watch it now! | More online videosYour take: Any U2 fans/haters care to weigh in on this film release? Good, bad, indifferent? read more

With the help of a few friends, Gates is ready to explore his options as to what to do after his last day. Let’s just say his buddies don’t get anymore A-List than this with the likes of Matthew McConaughey, George Clooney, Barack Obama, Steven Spielberg and Jay-Z. April 25, 2007: 70 Million Votes and Everyone's Safe!

This is going to be a different kind of blog tonight as I am frankly stunned, shocked and really pleasantly surprised that Idol pulled this little telethon together so quickly and so effectively. Idol is in a position to do something to help others less fortunate, and I am proud they took this opportunity to do it. They have friends in very high places, and scores of Idol-worshiping celebrities offered their services to help spread the message. Not only that, but they partnered with One.org to bring awareness to extreme poverty. And although the show felt pretty much like a long Ford commercial, I am happy and amazed that they did it. A little more than halfway through the show Ryan announced they had raised $30 million! That’s pretty impressive. So if you haven’t donated, do so now! There were some funny moments, but mostly these were two hours that really touched me. I started to lose it during the segment about New Orleans: After walking back and forth to the bathroom f... read more

Will Spidey Land on the Great White Way?

Nerds, break out your most indignant, Comic Book Guy gasp. Come July, your favorite leotard-clad superhero will show off his acting, singing and dancing chops in a staged reading of a new Spider-Man musical. Helmed by Julie Taymor (the Tony-winning genius behind Broadway's The Lion King) and with songs by U2's Bono and The Edge (what, Larry Mullen Jr. was too busy?), the piece will swing into New York a little more than two months after Spider-Man 3 bows at the box office. In addition to all the usual suspects and heroes, there will be a "geek chorus," which, according to the casting breakdown, consists of "three teenage boys and one girl who meet to ritualistically retell the greatest Spider-Man stories." At least they got the guy-to-girl geek ratio right. — Reporting by Raven Snook read more

Five Things I've Learned from Hollywood This Week

1) Bed Sheets and Leather Jackets Are Now In The next time I'm standing in front of my closet, dissatisfied with the same choices as always, I will reach for my bed sheet (preferably the one not dressing my bed at the current moment), wrap it around me and hold it in place with a fitted leather jacket. And if anyone questions my fashion choice, I will simply tell them that I can't take credit for the newest craze, because the Olsen twins were seen wearing it first. And with their billion-dollar industry continually growing, why not take some notes on what they're styling? Also, the lesson within the lesson: Don't forget to purse your lips for the cameras so your face appears super-small. This will compensate for the overwhelming amount of material.2) Your Hair Will Make or Break YouHow many dyes does it take to get to the center of your roots? Brunette, blonde, red, ash, strawberry, curly, straight, short, mullet, buzzed... Hollywood changes its hairstyle more often than I buy shamp... read more

48th Annual Grammy Awards After...

Kelly Clarkson

48th Annual Grammy AwardsAfter proudly watching my pals Kimberly Caldwell and Rosanna Tavarez on TV Guide Channel's Countdown to the Grammys, followed, of course, by Joan and Melissa Rivers on our Grammy red-carpet show, I made sure my roommate's VCR was taping Idol and my own VCR was set for Lost. All systems go! Time for the Grammys.8:00 pm The animated group Gorillaz open with their hit "Feel Good Inc.," and since I love the song, guess what? It makes me feel good. But I totally picture my mother in Chicago being very confused.8:03 The goddess Madonna enters and I'm loving every minute of it. Can I please look that fabulous when I'm 47? After a brief lip-synched intro, she sings the rest of "Hung Up" live, and her hair looks like Lydia Cornell circa Too Close for Comfort.8:13 Kelly Clarkson s read more

Love Monkey Is anyone else totally...

Love MonkeyIs anyone else totally loving this kid Wayne's music? Tom perfectly described the young artist, played by real-life musician Teddy Geiger, as having "depth, soul, and I just couldn't get it out of my head." While Tom was trying to brainstorm ways to get Wayne's name out there, I was thinking, "Duh, MySpace.com," and sure enough, that was Tom's first idea. I could so write this show... even though I have yet to sign up for MySpace. And I definitely noticed Mike staring down the hot nanny's cleavage. Come on, your wife is seven months pregnant, for heaven's sake, and she's sitting right there! Well, I learned a new word tonight: "nannyaziation," which refers to the cultural phenomenon of cheating with the nanny. I'm really hoping read more
