Bon Jovi Gives Fans Free Concert

Looks like local dive bars won't be the only place New Yorkers will be head-banging to the all time sing-a-long rock anthem "Livin' on a Prayer." According to the AP, come July 12, Bon Jovi will be performing a free concert in Central Park. The show is a prelude to the band's July 15th All-Star baseball game performance during MLB's final season in the current Yankee Stadium. With 15 plus albums under their belt, you never know which oldies Jon Bon Jovi will give his fans. Will it be "You Give Love a Bad Name"? A classic power-ballad like "Bed of Roses?" Of course he'll have to throw in some new songs, but we all know why we'll be lining up hours before the concert begins – to light up those lighters for the epitome of classic 80s rock n' roll! So, tell us, who's going to make the trip out to hear the men from New Jersey rock out? — Gina DiNunno read more

Music Notes: Billboard Says Goodbye Vegas, Hello Grits

Fox is fixin' to announce that its annual Billboard Music Awards will slip the word "Country" before "Music," relocate the kudosfest from Sin City to Nashville and reprioritize its accolades accordingly. The decision, says Variety, comes after the '06 Billboard show hit a sour note with its lowest ratings to date. There's a song in that somewhere. In other music-awards-show news — and isn't there always some? — Toby Keith, Keith Urban and Bon Keith Jovi have been added to the 2007 CMT Music Awards, airing April 16 at 8 pm/ET. read more

West Wing A Democratic candidate...

West WingA Democratic candidate turns to a New Jersey rock star in the waning days of a presidential campaign? C'mon. That would never happen in real life. I guess Santos is trying to turn the election into a "Runaway" by having Jon Bon Jovi rock the vote. (Remember in Season 4, when WW featured cameos by the likes of Barenaked Ladies and Aimee Mann? Doesn't that seem a really long time ago?) But it's no easy task with all the chaos of the campaign trail: Helen's quote in favor of ex-con voting, the congressman's inability to get any info on the Kazakhstan situation and their poor kid yakking all over his Harry Potter costume. It looks like the entire Santos family is livin' on a prayer... oh, and caffeine. The writers are cert read more
