After a week away at tennis camp, Jamie appears to have gone through a complete personality change. The family is amazed at her unusual display of affection. Charles is assigned to be a teacher's aide in Jamie's health and hygiene class much to Jamie's consternation. Charles introduces himself to the teacher, Mr. Merken (Jerry Van Dyke), who has a tired and negative attitude towards the students and teaching profession. The next day in class, Mr. Merken hands the class over to Charles who is extremely nervous. The topic is human sexuality, and Charles cannot bring himself to openly name the anatomical parts. Jamie begins heckling him to such a point that he assigns her three hours of detention on Saturday -- the day that Jamie is to cheerlead the football game.
