Bob Saget, Surviving Suburbia
Full House's Danny Tanner might be calling ABC home once again.
According to Variety, the Alphabet network is in talks to save Surviving Suburbia, a comedy that was originally developed for the CW's Sunday-night lineup but as of late has been without a home.
Starring Bob Saget, Cynthia Stevenson and Jere Burns, Suburbia was to premiere ...

The Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget courtesy Comedy Central
Cheers to Cloris Leachman for burning down the house at the Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget. I'm still not sure what the octogenarian Oscar winner was doing there, but she racked up bigger laughs than all the younger comics on the dais combined ("I have vibrators older than most of you," she cracked. "The difference is the vibrators still work"). Her targets included everybody from ex-costar Mary Tyler Moore ("a total slut") to the guest of dishonor ("I'm glad I got out of sitcoms before you killed them"). And after announcing she was there to "f--- John Stamos," Leachman got a big kiss and a goose from the roastmaster. It was the least Stamos could do, considering he'd said her "first STD was the plague." (And those are just the jokes I could repeat!) Share your own raves and rants about other shows on the Reader Cheers & Jeers discussion board. We may feature your Cheer or Jeer on TVGuide.com or in TV Guide magazine!

Bob Saget by Ian White/Comedy Central
When Comedy Central roasts Bob Saget (and good!) on Aug. 17, overseeing the Bob-BQ is none other than his Full House kin, John Stamos. "Him being the roast master is kind of odd, but moving," Saget tells TV Guide. "Its like an emotional thing." With the "roastee" being "Danny Tanner," you have to expect that a fair amount of digs will be made at the Olsen twins especially the dirty kind. That's precisely what transpired, and Saget wasn't entirely OK with it all. "Anybody who talks about my TV kids that upsets me the most," Saget tells New York Post. "I am very protective. I love them very much." The now-22-year-olds were in fact invoked by Stamos, who said during the taping, "The whole time Bob and I were doing Full House, he was also hosting America's Funniest Home Videos.... His entire job consisted of saying 'Take a look at this' which is what he used to say to Mary-Kate in her dressing room."With comments like that, do you think Saget's roasters went ...

Bob Saget is returning to suburban fatherhood in a new CW series, Surviving Suburbia. The half-hour comedy will feature Saget as Keith Tanner Stever, a well-meaning curmudgeon who would like some peace and alone time. Per The Reporter, the CW is also said to be adding the new series, Valentine, which will focus on Greek gods who live among us in the modern world and run a matchmaking business. As things get into production at the network, would you embrace a new Saget-centered series? As long as the CW gig doesn't impede on his fatherly narration on How I Met Your Mother, we'll be looking for it. Anna DimondUse our Online Video Guide to see some of Saget's other work.

Arsenio Hall by Steve Granitz/WireImage.com
While it might have seemed that Arsenio Hall's big TV moments were over with the Clinton era, the comedian and late-night host is back this fall, just ahead of the next phase in presidential politics. Hall will be hosting MyNetworkTV's Funniest Moments (working title), which will feature comedic scenes from everyday life caught on tape, plus introductions and some stand-up from the host himself.Hall's new series will air Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET this fall, and is the latest in a series of "Funniest Moments" shows from the net. In the meantime, we'll just have to reminisce about Hall's shoulder-pad days, and ponder the uncanny parallel between this career move and that of Bob Saget in 1990. Do you think Hall's take on funny moments will fly? Anna DimondUse our Online Video Guide to recall some of Hall's own funny moments.

Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan by Alexandra Wyman/WireImage.com
The cast of How I Met Your Mother put the "work hard, play hard" philosophy into action Thursday night as they celebrated the premiere of their spring season and St. Patrick's Day at the Palihouse Hotel in West Hollywood. Stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Bob Saget wrapped up a milestone week of filming with pop diva Britney Spears and turned out in their red carpet finery ready to par-tay. Jameson Irish Whiskey cocktails flowed, Irish-themed hors d'oeuvres (including mini corned-beef-and-cabbage tarts, whiskey wings, and mini shepherd's pies) were passed around, and Segel dished about Brit-Brit's acting chops. "She has really good comedic timing," he said. "Her improvs were really good. She was into it and very funny." Segel also discussed his moonlighting as a big-time Hollywood writer when he's not working on HIMYM. "I'm writing the script to the next Muppet movie," he said. "The fact that I have been sitting in front of my computer ...

Conan O'Brien by Dana Edelson/NBC Photo
Did absence make our hearts grow fonder of late-night TV's hosts, missing in action for the last two months? I suppose it's possible, though I doubt anyone's preferences were changed by what they saw Wednesday night, when all of the network hosts finally returned to work, all but David Letterman and Craig Ferguson without writers. (If anything grew, it was facial hair, at least on Dave and Conan.)If you're the sort who for whatever reason prefers affable Jay Leno over cranky Dave, or chooses to stay up late for the delectable derangement that is Conan OBrien, nothing about Wednesdays opening night would likely have shaken you from your long-ingrained after-hours habits. The strike beards sported by Dave and Conan in solidarity with the still-striking writers (and to prove that I still have some testosterone, joked Conan) were the most noticeable changes on the late-night landscape.Heres my report card on late-nights opening night, keeping in mind ...
