Autopsy: Billy Mays' Death Linked to Cocaine

An autopsy shows that cocaine contributed to the heart disease that suddenly killed TV infomercial pitchman Billy Mays in June, according to officials.

Investigators previously determined that Mays, 50, had a heart attack in his sleep at his Florida home. His wife found him unresponsive in bed on June 28. Heart disease is still listed as the primary cause of death.

Billy Mays Likely Died of Heart Attack, Medical Examiner Says

Television pitchman Billy Mays likely died in his sleep of a heart attack, a medical examiner said Monday.

Mays, whose wife found him dead Sunday morning at their home in Tampa, had hypertensive heart disease, Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Vernard Adams told reporters. Adams said more tests were needed to conclusively determine the cause of death.

TV Pitchman Billy Mays Dies at 50

Billy Mays, who sold such products as OxiClean and Orange Glo in late-night infomercials and demonstrated his techniques in his Discovery series Pitchmen, has died. He was 50.

Mays was found dead at his home Sunday morning and no foul play was suspected, Tampa police told news outlets. Autopsy results were expected Monday.
