Benjamin Bratt
Benjamin Bratt will return as Detective Reynaldo Curtis on Law & Order, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Curtis will reunite with his former boss, Lt. Anita van Buren (S. Epatha Merkerson), on an upcoming episode. Bratt was nominated for a best supporting actor Emmy for the role in 1999. After four seasons, he left the show that same year to pursue a film career.
Benjamin Bratt to guest-star on Modern Family
"I am thrilled that Ben is coming back for a return appearance," executive producer Dick Wolf said in a statement. "He joined us for our recent 20th anniversary celebration and it was like he never left."
Bratt's casting was first reported by Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.
Bratt starred in the A&E series The Cleaner for two seasons and will guest-star this fall on ABC's hit sitcom Modern Family, playing Sofia Vergara's unreliable but charismatic ex-husband.

Bratt will play the ex-husband of Sofia Vergara's Gloria, who is now married to the much older Jay ( Ed O'Neill). The character has been referenced often this season: His son, Manny, idolizes his absentee father while Gloria speaks regularly of his physical prowess, much to Jay's chagrin.

The Cleaner: Benjamin Bratt
A&E has canceled The Cleaner, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The network has opted to not renew the rehab drama starring Benjamin Bratt. This news comes on the heels of the cancellation of A&E's only other scripted program, the Patrick Swayze drama The Beast, and, interestingly, the Emmy win of A&E's Intervention, which is like an unscripted version of The Cleaner.

The Cleaner, Benjamin Bratt
Are special guest stars always a shark jump? The Cleaner's Benjamin Bratt says no way — especially when they include Whoopi Goldberg, Mia Kirschner, Gary Cole, and Joe Don Baker, some of the actors appearing on his A&E drama this season.

Benjamin Bratt, The Cleaner
If only Benjamin Bratt's character on The Cleaner could balance work and family as well as the actor does. The show's first season – A&E has just ordered a second – ended with William Banks' wife kicking him out of the house. She's convinced that Banks, a former drug addict, has a new addiction to his job: intervening in the lives of addicts to force them into rehab.

Benjamin Bratt by Michael Yarish/A&E
Jeers to The Cleaner for being such a mess. Never have I seen a show try so hard to be gritty and end up so corny. Benjamin Bratt's overheated A&E drama opens with a Law & Order-like disclaimer, stating that "extreme interventionist" William Banks is "not a cop. He's not a superhero. He's just a man with a Calling. This is his story." That story includes some of the hokiest dialogue ("Get the team together we got a kid in trouble!") and worst acting I've ever seen (sorry, Grace Park fans). Somebody needs to send The Cleaner's writers into rehab: They're addicted to clichés. Share your own raves and rants about other shows on the Reader Cheers & Jeers discussion board. We may feature your Cheer or Jeer on TVGuide.com or in TV Guide magazine!
