Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, played host to the 2009 NHL Winter Classic. This year's matchup pitted the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks in the 701st meeting between the two original six teams. The Blackhawks stormed out to an early 3-1 lead behind two powerplay goals by Kris Versteeg and Martin Havlat. Ben Eager scored the third goal for the Blackhawks late in the first period with a beautiful wraparound move from behind the net. Coming out for the second period, with a renewed sense of urgency in this crucial divisional matchup, the Red Wings answered with five unanswered goals through the next two periods. Jiri Hudler scored back-to-back goals and Pavel Datsyuk split the Blackhawks defense in the 6-4 come-from-behind victory in the frigid Chicago air. watch
