New Jersey s Armor for Sleep started when founder Ben Jorgensen recorded a few songs on the cheap, playing all the instruments himself. When he started college a few months later he found a few kindred spirits to share the work, and the band as we know it today was born. Armor for Sleep s emotionally-raw yet melodic punk-pop-rock has put the quartet on the cusp of major stardom. Until then, however, it s business as usual. Jorgensen took a break from touring behind their second album, What To Do When You Are Dead, to talk to mtvU s Hot Seat about armadillos, why Nirvana is like theoretical physics and the importance of thinking you re tall.
