It's always a risky move to perform one of the judges' songs in front of them on American Idol, and for Emily Piriz the decision may have backfired.
Last Thursday, Piriz became the second contestant voted off of Season 13, after performingJennifer Lopez' "Let's Get Loud" 24 hours earlier.
But the 18-year-old from Miami says she doesn't regret her decision.
Avril Lavigne, Danica McKellar
Thanks to her unforgettable role as Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years, millions have daydreamed about someday hitting on Danica McKellar. But few could have guessed it would be pop-rock singer Avril Lavigne to make that daydream a reality.
In the comic book-esque video for her new single...
No television show has perfectly captured the zeitgeist of the early 2000s like The O.C. For one hour each week, the world stopped as the Newport drama unfolded before us. Of course, the world didn't actually stop, as my unfinished homework would always attest, but the world was changing...
The star-studded lineup for this year's iHeart Radio music festival includes Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Katy Perry and others, ClearChannel announced Monday.
The two-day event, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, will take place Sept. 20 and 21 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne has always marched to the beat of her own drum, so it's no surprise that she did so at her wedding to Chad Kroeger.
Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne
Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger tied the knot on Monday, People reports.
Famous last words: "Nothing can go wrong," says Jess on Cece's lavish wedding day ‑ not accounting for the runaway horse, the badger on the loose, and the inappropriate soundtrack that factors into the buds plotting a "sabo" (Schmidt-speak for "sabotage") in a pivotal and blissfully funny second-season finale of Fox's New Girl (Tuesday, 9/8c). Schmidt has brought Elizabeth (Nurse Jackie's delightful Merritt Wever) as a date while having "eye conversations" with the conflicted bride, and with Jess's disapproving dad (Rob Reiner) amplifying the insecurities underlying his daughter's romance with Nick, there's plenty of relationship drama amid the raucous comedy. And while Fox hasn't made a secret of the celebrity cameo amid the wedding crowd, it makes for a fun twist and even better joke, a grace note for an episode that will leave fans happily awaiting next season. ... On the finale of its companion piece The Mindy Project (9:30/8:30c), Mindy plans to accompany Casey to Haiti on a volunteer mission, prompting a farewell party by Danny and his ex-wife. Not to worry; she and the show will be back for a second season in the fall.
She was No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes chart the same night that she was crowned the Season 3 winner of The Voice, but Cassadee Pope says that she didn't expect to win the competition. She actually thought that she was going to get the boot weeks ago.
"I kind of thought at the knockouts that I was done. I was not happy with that performance," the 23-year-old told reporters backstage after winning the singing competition. "That was probably my lowest moment as far as my performance, but I think seeing iTunes has helped me get through this season with a little bit more ease. It gave me a little bit of a heads-up for what was going to happen."
Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope and Nicholas David
In the words of coach Adam Levine, Tuesday's finale for The Voice was "bittersweet."
The Season 3 capper not only crowned a new winner, but it also (temporarily) said goodbye to coaches Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, who will sit out next season to focus on other projects. (Shakira and Usher will take over their spinning chairs.)
Which shows have been renewed and which have been canceled?
Terry McDermott, Cassadee Pope, and Nicholas David
It's no secret that this wasn't The Voice's best year, but thankfully the quality of the finalists was never compromised by this season's exorbitant changes. As we approach the finale, we'll soon be asked to choose between three — not four — artists: Team CeeLo's Nicholas David and Team Blake's Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope.
So who has what it takes to win?
