Bob Saget by Ian White/Comedy Central
When Comedy Central roasts Bob Saget (and good!) on Aug. 17, overseeing the Bob-BQ is none other than his Full House kin, John Stamos. "Him being the roast master is kind of odd, but moving," Saget tells TV Guide. "It’s like an emotional thing." With the "roastee" being "Danny Tanner," you have to expect that a fair amount of digs will be made at the Olsen twins — especially the dirty kind. That's precisely what transpired, and Saget wasn't entirely OK with it all. "Anybody who talks about my TV kids — that upsets me the most," Saget tells New York Post. "I am very protective. I love them very much." The now-22-year-olds were in fact invoked by Stamos, who said during the taping, "The whole time Bob and I were doing Full House, he was also hosting America's Funniest Home Videos.... Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are writing a book about fashion called Influence. The coffee-table volume, in stores this fall, will include new photos of the pair by photographer Rankin and essays by the authors about the photographers, designers and artists who have inspired them. "Fur Is Worn by Beautiful Animals and Ugly People" — that's the message of a poster featuring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, to be unveiled by PETA Wednesday afternoon at the site of the sibs' star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The "Trollsen Twins, Hairy Kate and Trashley" (as PETA dubs them, albeit in an eighth-grade manner) are being targeted by the org for their refusal to defer da fur, and as such are also "seen" learning about the evils of harming animals in a PETA-produced video parody of Full House. Hey, as long as it has Coulier doing that high-sterical Donald Duck voice....

Nicole Richie and Ashley Olsen this year lay dubious claim to the No. 1 and 2 spots on PETA's "Worst-Dressed List" of fur-wearing celebs. Of Richie, the press release says, "This pelt-wearing party girl is all animal skin and bones," while Olsen, they advise, would be better to bulk up her frame "using a fork instead." Placing fourth (behind Christina Ricci, who recently donned reindeer fur for a magazine cover) is Eva Longoria. Quips PETA of the Desperate housewife, "You'd think she'd be more sympathetic to the plight of rabbits considering the way she screw around like one on Wisteria Lane." Question: I know this is a really, really stupid question, but some friends and I were talking about the Olsen twins and (not that either of them is ever going to be nominated for an Academy Award — sorry Mary-Kate! Sorry Ashley!), but we were wondering: Have twins ever shared an Oscar?
Answer: I'd go so far as to say it's a very silly question but I'd stop short of "stupid," perhaps because I was actually curious enough to look into it. And the answer is that two twins have been Oscar winners, though the twins in question weren't actors: They're Julius J. and Philip G. Epstein, two of the three screenwriters who wrote Casablanca (1943). Oh, and they didn't have to share a single statuette — each got his own.
