A maniacal murderer at large in foggy London provides the setting. Theodore Bikel as a harried police sergeant, and Rhys Williams as an over zealous newspaperman, co-star in this episode about a rash of murders by strangulation. Although the police sergeant alerts his men after the first murders, that of an ordinary little man and his wife, he is frustrated time after time in his attempt to capture the murderer. The seasonal, heavy fog is no help and soon both the flower lady on the corner and one of his own policemen are included among the victims. To make matters worse, the newspaperman needles him about his ineptness and even appears at the scene of the crime before the policemen. watch
Ernest Findlater dreams about a South Sea island and a girl he meets there named Lalage. Lalage develops a scheme to help Findlater kill his real life wife. On the night of the planned murder, Findlater discovers that his wife is already dead. watch
