Bob X is a freelance artist and illustrator living and working in Memphis, Tennessee. His art is prolific, spreading itself across many mediums - from paintings to logo designs, from silk screens to comics - while exhibited in many forms, it is always identifiable as the work of Bob X.
In the 1980's Bob X was a key player in the 'ugly art' movement (a style consisting mainly of black and white pen and/or brush work line drawings that were often rough, but at the same time extremely complex and intricate). As the creator of XEX GRAPHIX, he helped lead the movement through his wild graphics and entangled designs.
More recently, the work of Bob X was included in the 2010 publication, 'NEWAVE: the Underground Mini Comix of the 1980s,' available through Fantagraphics Books. And he was also recently recruited by Fulmer Helmets (a Memphis-based company) to design graphics for a new line of motorcycle helmets.

Jenny Odle Madden is an actor, producer, and teacher living in working in Memphis.

Born and raised in Memphis, Jenny began dabbling in theatre in High School and soon realized that it was a passion that she wanted to pursue. She attended the University of Memphis where she was able to study theatre both in the states and abroad in Europe, and where she would meet some of the collaborators she still works with today.
After college, Jenny was offered an internship at Playhouse on the Square, which she gladly accepted. It was during this time that, working at Playhouse and exploring other theatre throughout the city, she fell in love with the notion of 'ensemble.'
In the early to mid nineties Jenny (along with her collaborators) began to adapt Southern short stories into plays and was soon touring them around the world. Unbeknownst to them at the time, this was the beginning of Voices of the South - to date, Voices of the South has produced 30 new works.
In addition to being a co-founder and Executive Producer for Voices of the South, Jenny is also Director of Plays at St. Mary's School, where she tries to instill in the kids an appreciation for the art of ensemble and improve. States Jenny, 'Theatre is a safe community environment where you can do anything and be accepted for that.

Flipside Memphis - Warble

Some bands defy description. The Warble, Alex Harrison (aka Alex Warble), Ben Baurmeister, Steve Pereira, and Judith Stevens are one of those bands. Sure, the jangly guitars and preening fiddles are folky, but what to make of the rambling song structures, unexpected instrumentation, electric interludes and, strangest of all, the popular live shows that mix striking visual art and freakish theatricality? One of the things that make The Warble so hard to categorize is that they do not recognize lines between music, visual art and theater. Can a band be its own genre?

Flipside Memphis - Rozelle Artists Guild

Artists need communities. They need someone to compete with, someone to support them, someone to critique their work, someone to respond to, and someone to get a beer and commiserate with.
www.livefrommemphis.com/rozelleartistsguild
The Rozelle Artists Guild had its roots with a group of Memphis College of Art students who would get together to keep each other company while working on projects for school, but it has evolved into something bigger. Their collaborative philosophy extends beyond their own group, as they have worked on projects with Live from Memphis, among others. Named for its first home in a formerly abandoned warehouse at 822 Rozelle Street, the Guild is currently searching for a new space that will encourage artists of all stripes to discover the joys of collaborative creation.
