Annie Potts on Her Animal Practice Role: George's Mom Played a Large Part in His Dysfunction

"It may be my favorite picture ever," Annie Potts says. And she's not talking about a photo with her co-star Justin Kirk, but one with that other star of Animal Practice : Crystal the Monkey.

"I've worked with a lot of actors and I have to say Crystal is unbelievably magnetic, gifted, totally natural and she's very direct-able," Potts tells "I've had costars that were a lot of more difficult. She's adorable. Almost as adorable as Justin."

Potts has to say that because Kirk plays her son more

Ask Matt: Terra Nova vs. Fringe, Awake, USA's Leading Ladies and GCB

Send questions to and follow me on Twitter!

Question: Just wondering about Terra Nova and the rumors that they'll be shopping it around to another network. It took them pretty much forever to get the first season prepared, I'm assuming because of the special effects. If they wind up on another network, that probably means a smaller budget, faster production, fewer dinosaurs, more focus on the people, character-driven stories, etc. Right? Originally titled Good Christian Belles (and before that, Good Christian Bitches), ABC's new Southern-fried farce is full of big hair, over-the-top characters and the kind of empty-calorie fun one has while getting gossipy with their gals and gays: It's snappy, loud and sure to tick off a ...
