Planned to be a clinical psychologist, but discovered a love for acting in college after he auditioned for and was cast in Shakespeare's The Tempest.
Took a year off after college to travel and visit family in India.
Made his New York stage debut in 1998 opposite Alec Baldwin, Angela Bassett and Liev Schreiber in Macbeth.
Appeared on Broadway in The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, with Linda Lavin and Valerie Harper.
