Angelina Jolie has dethroned Oprah Winfrey as the most powerful celebrity in the world on Forbes Magazine's annual list.
In the past 12 months, Jolie earned $27 million, with movies including Wanted, Kung Fu Panda and the upcoming thriller Salt. The magazine also considered the media attention she received after giving birth to twins last summer, her philanthropic work and her relationship with Brad Pitt (who ranks No. 9 on the list).

On the one-year anniversary of his death, Heath Ledger earned a supporting actor Academy Award nomination for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight.
Ledger's nod was among the most anticipated of Thursday's Oscar announcements. The best-picture nominees include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which led with 13 total nominations, Slumdog Millionaire, Frost/Nixon, Milk and The Reader. (Check out the list of nominees here.)
