Ask Matt: Good Wife, Parenthood, Gotham, Murder, Castle, Scorpion, Forever and More

Matt Czuchry

Question: Just when I thought The Good Wife couldn't top Season 5, Season 6 is off to a humdinger of a start! I certainly didn't see Cary's arrest coming, and I can't wait to find out what they have in store for us next. Matt Czuchry is terrific, and I'm thrilled he's getting this opportunity for a meaty storyline. As opposed to a show such as The Vampire Diaries, which tore through so much plot I stopped caring (no one stays dead, so where are the stakes?), The Good Wife earns its twists and turns, and only gets better with each game-changer. I've thoroughly enjoyed it from the get-go, but in the last year, it has vaulted to the top of my can't-miss shows. As we all know, many programs decline after the first few seasons and limp to the finish line. NCIS became a big hit a few years into its run, but I'm not sure it grew creatively. (That's not a slight — I don't watch it, so I genuinely don't know.) I can't think of another show that has risen to such glorious new artistic heights in Season 5 and onward the way The Good Wife has. Can you? — Keira

Is a Castle Wedding Still in the Cards? 7 Teases for the New Season

Seamus Dever, Jon Huertas, Stana Katic

That wailing and gnashing of teeth you might have heard back in May? It was probably coming from a very vocal group of Castle fans who were up in arms about the ABC drama's Season 6 finale.

After spending months teasing and promising the wedding between mystery novelist Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), the writers made a sharp turn in the closing moments of the finale, which ended with Beckett running from the wedding site to the scene of an accident where Castle's Mercedes was engulfed in flames. Many fans' anger burned just as hot, as they revolted against the cliff-hanger they believed was nothing more than a cheap stall tactic.

Fall Preview: Get scoop on your favorite returning shows

Executive producer David Amann is aware of the fan reaction and simply hopes that viewers will give Season 7 a shot before making up their minds. "We would all ask for their patience and indulgence for the first couple of episodes, just so they can see where we're going," Amann, who is taking over the daily showruner responsibilities from creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells TVGuide.com... read more

Will Sarah escape from Eric on True Blood— Boris
Aww, did you want her to live? That's cute. She'll soon get what she deserves, but you might be surprised by how the standoff at the Light of Day camp goes down. "I see the cars pull up, and I actually end up deciding to sacrifice myself," Anna Camp says. "I believe that I am the new Messiah, and the best thing to do is to tell the truth and to go out there and just surrender." Sarah does realize there's no way in hell they'll take mercy on her, right?

Do you know if Once Upon a Time's Frozen adaptation takes place before or after the movie? — Dave

Question: I am shocked how some of your readers think Fargo should have been just a follow-up to the movie with let's see how Marge is doing since everyone else involved in the movie was either dead or in prison. I agree that the show is terrific. The episode last week was one of the most amazing episodes of TV I have ever seen.

I'm still processing that Castle cliff-hanger. Who ran Castle's car off the road? — Linda
Although there are a number of possibilities (3XK comes to mind, for example), it sounds like at least one person isn't involved: the recently arrested Sen. William Bracken. "I think that aspect of the mythology is closed now," creator Andrew W. Marlowe says. "Beckett knows who killed her mother. If there's further storytelling there, I think we're going to be breaking new ground." And for those fans miffed that we didn't get to see Castle and Beckett's wedding, look on the bright side: The show will have a fresh budget to work with in Season 7! "That's right," Marlowe says with a laugh. "We were running on fumes, financially, at the end of this year." When can we expect our diamond-encrusted invite?

Postmortem: Castle Boss Answers Our "Burning" Questions About That Season 6 Cliff-Hanger

[WARNING: The following story contains spoilers from the Season 6 finale of Castle. Read at your own risk.]

Like many TV nuptials before it, the would-be blessed union between Castle's Katherine Beckett and Richard Castle did not go off without a hitch in the Season 6 finale.

In fact, there were numerous hitches. For starters, when Beckett (Stana Katic) and Castle (Nathan Fillion) went to apply for their marriage licenses, they were both shocked to learn that Beckett was already married! As it turns out, Beckett married her con-man ex Rogan O'Leary (guest star Eddie McClintock) 15 years ago during a drunken trip to Vegas. But when Beckett makes a trip upstate to get Rogan to sign a dissolution of marriage agreement, things get even worse... read more

Castle Boss: "The Gloves Are Off" Between Beckett and Bracken

Stana Katic

[WARNING: The following story contains spoilers from Monday's episode of ABC's Castle. Read at your own risk.]

On Castle, some of the ghosts from Detective Kate Beckett's past just won't stay buried.

Beckett (Stana Katic) was reminded of that in a big way on Monday's episode, when she was asked to go on a simple undercover operation to bust a drug ring. There was just one problem: Although Beckett was told she was posing as a drug courier named Elena, she soon learned that the person she was impersonating was actually an assassin! Although Beckett managed to maintain her cover long enough to carry out a "hit" (who knew items in your pantry could make fake blood so quickly!) the jig was up when Beckett came face-to-face with ... read more
