Year of the Comet -- An extremely rare bottle of wine (bottled during the appearance of the Great Comet of 1811) is discovered. Margaret Harwood is sent to retrieve it so it can be sold at auction. Oliver Plexico is assigned as her travel guide/bodyguard for the trip. However, other people desperately want the bottle and will stop at nothing to get it. A simple little trip becomes an international chase.

Young and feisty Margaret Harwood has been sent to Scotland on a business assignment for her wine merchant father. While taking inventory in the cellar of an old Scottish estate, Margaret finds an almost priceless bottle of wine that was bottled in 1811 during the appearance of the Great Comet. When Margaret tells her father of the discovery, he sends his somewhat unprofessional assistant, Oliver Plexico (Timothy Daly) to be her bodyguard for the rest of the trip. While the two butt heads at first, they realize that they must work together to keep their precious treasure safe from the greedy hands of others.
