One Life to Live
One Life to Live celebrates its 45th anniversary Monday, and is also celebrating a new beginning. New episodes will premiere as scheduled on Hulu and iTunes, and the show will also begin its limited 10-week run on OWN.
"I'm just glad that we can actually have an anniversary, that we're not having a funeral," star Kassie DePaiva, who plays Blair Cramer on the long-running soap, tells TVGuide.com. "Hopefully 45 years from now, somebody else will still be talking about One Life to Live."
Along with DePaiva, TVGuide.com chats with cast members Melissa Archer, Jerry verDorn, Erika Slezak and Tuc Watkins about their most beloved and most despised story lines over the course of the show's history. Here is a chronological breakdown of those moments:
The doctor is in — and he's looking just like Cruz Castillo! That much-loved Emmy winner A Martinez of Santa Barbara fame is joining The Bold and the Beautiful for a guest stint starting February 9. His character, Dr. Ramon Montgomery, will be introduced as a close friend and personal physician to wily Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), who has a big mess on his hands. By the time Ramon hits the scene, sexypants Amber (Adrienne Frantz) will be claiming ...
Some things never change. And yahoo for that! Suds icon Andrea Evans is heading back to The Bold and the Beautiful after a 10-year absence to play Tawny, the trailer-trash gold-digger who spawned that royal pain Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz). As usual, Tawny will be looking for a hand-out and intends to hit up her kid, whom she thinks is doing well in the L.A. fashion biz. She has no idea Amber recently got canned.
Andrea Evans, One Life to Live
But Andrea Evans will. Six months after her celebrated return to her old stomping grounds, Andrea Evans is calling an end to her cross-country commute and ending her One Life to Live encore.
"There was always an understanding that it would be short-term," the daytime vet ...

Long before Passions came along, One Life to Live was daytime's wildest soap especially back in the Reagan era, when Viki (Erika Slezak) had an out-of-body experience during brain surgery and wound up on a space ship to heaven. To celebrate the ABC soap's 40th anniversary next month, OLTL head writer Ron Carlivati will revisit that celestial 1987 plot by having Viki die just momentarily, of course! in a car crash. "This time, heaven will be a very modern high-rise Viki will go up the elevator floor by floor, encountering all sorts of dead characters along the way," said Carlivati. Among the former stars making angelic returns are Phil Carey (Asa), Mark Derwin (Ben), Stephen Markle (Mel) and Jessica Tuck (Megan). OLTL's legendary creator, Agnes Nixon, will also appear in heaven. That's not all. Carlivati will redo the famous '80s plot where Tina (Andrea Evans) survived a plunge over the Iguazú Falls in Argentina, only this time, creepy Carlo (Thom Chri...

One Life to Live will welcome back to its canvas a most special guest as the ABC serial prepares to mark its 40th anniversary: Come June, Andrea Evans will return as Tina Lord Roberts, the role for which she received a Daytime Emmy nod in 1990. Tina's arrival not only will bring with it the trouble that typically follows Viki's half sis, but also will open the door for another fan favorite to resurface. Hmmm...."Even though Andrea has not appeared on OLTL since 1990, she has remained among the most requested characters to return to the show," says exec producer Frank Valentini. "I welcome her home to OLTL and to the role where she made an indelible mark on our audience." Says Evans in her own statement, "For many years, both fans of mine and One Life to Live have wanted me to return. Now that the timing is right, Im thrilled to be returning to the role of Tina, which I've always held near and dear to my heart."Some teasers from the folks at ABC: "Tina has endured a life...
