Question: I have found a silver lining in all of this strike business. Getting desperate for some quality entertainment during this "dry spell", I started TiVo'ing old episodes of one of my favorite shows, Homicide: Life on the Streets. For me, this was one of the first breakout-quality series in this genre. I have been thoroughly enjoying reliving some fabulous episodes, particularly the Luther Mahoney storyline. It is especially satisfying since I get a new episode of the syndicated series every day. This brings me to my question: Why have Andre Braugher and Kyle Secor not been able to find new roles that show off their talent the way Pembleton and Bayliss did? Watching these old episodes has reminded me how much I enjoy these two actors. I even gave Women's Murder Club a few extra viewings after Secor showed up in the pilot, but I didn't see him again after that. Charles S. Per the Hollywood Reporter, Andre Braugher and Laurie Holden have been cast in The Mist, director Frank Darabont's adaptation of the Stephen King chiller about a small Maine town marauded by deadly creatures in the wake of a strange storm. (Wasn't that a Dean Koontz story, too?).... Harvey Keitel is in final talks to join The Ministers, a crime thriller about a female NYPD detective (One Life to Live alumna Florencia Lozano) out to avenge her father's murder at the hands of what sounds like a cult. Keitel would play another cop and hopefully one who keeps his pants on.

Question: What's the deal with Thief? I thought it was fantastic. But I heard that it got terrible ratings and probably won't be coming back. Is this true?
Answer: The unofficial word is: Don't count on it being renewed. The ratings were lousy — no big surprise, given the time of year this limited-run series premiered.
