When Addison (Kate Walsh) showed up at Seattle Grace in the Season 1 finale of Grey's Anatomy, we hated her. She was the salmon-scrub wearing wife of Derek, and darn it, we wanted McDreamy and Mer to get their happy ending. But by the time executive producer Shonda Rhimes sent Addison packing for the Private Practice spin-off, we truly loved her. We hoped she'd find a way to have a child. We hoped she'd find love. We'd hope she'd find happiness. In Tuesday's Private Practice series finale, Addison had finally found it all...
After six seasons, 111 episodes, a backdoor pilot and a revolving door of men, Private Practice will go off the air Tuesday at 10/9c on ABC with Addison finally getting her happy ending: She's getting married to someone she loves — and won't cheat on. (Sorry, Derek!)
Private Practice's series finale to feature Addison's wedding
Addison Forbes Montgomery (Kate Walsh) is set to wed Jake Reilly (Benjamin Bratt), and actually will make it down the aisle. There will be no last-minute change-ups, snafus or curveballs as executive producer Shonda Rhimes has liked to throw at Private fans over the years. TVGuide.com was on set for the momentous occasion, where the cast waxed poetic on saying goodbye to the Oceanside Seaside Wellness group we've come to know and love over the years. What's next for Walsh & Co.? Will they cross over to Grey's Anatomy? And what has it been like saying goodbye? Get the scoop:
Private Practice's Violet (Amy Brenneman) just lost her husband Pete (Tim Daly), but it won't be long before she insists that he be replaced — in the hospital, at least.
"Charlotte, out of respect for Pete, hasn't replaced him in the ER," Brenneman tells TVGuide.com. "She's pregnant and working herself into the ground and I say to her, 'It's OK. You need to replace Pete.' I see the new doctor (played by Matt Long) and it's like I'm seeing a ghost because he's like a young Pete."
Shonda Rhimes and the Private Practice cast celebrate 100!
When Private Practice spun off from Grey's Anatomy in 2007, few thought it would make it this long — including the brain trust behind the series — but on Tuesday night, the ABC medical drama will hit 100 episodes, a rare feat in television these days.

Spoiler alert! If you haven't watched last night's Private Practice, stop reading now, as this story addresses the death of a major character.
It was no secret that Tim Daly was leaving ABC's Private Practice. Over the summer, the disgruntled actor expressed his obvious disappointment about his dismissal through tweets to his followers. Still, some fans were holding out hope that creator Shonda Rhimes might send his character, Dr. Pete Wilder, off into the sunset just as she did when Audra McDonald (Naomi) elected to return to Broadway at the end of the 2010-2011 season. Instead, Rhimes chose the same fate she crafted for Chris Lowell's Dell in 2010. Here's why....

Private Practice wasted no time in doing episodes that were outside the box, as executive producer Shonda Rhimes promised.
In its season premiere, Private went full Rashomon-style, telling the same story from different perspectives, culminating in several big reveals for the doctors of Seaside Wellness. Since the ABC medical drama split the premiere by character, so will we! Find out what happened to Addison & Co, including who she chose, what happened to Pete and the big twist involving Charlotte. Plus: The cast dishes on what's next!
Get ready to say farewell to Pete Wilder.
When Private Practice returns, Pete will finally be on trial for the mercy killing of one of his patients — but considering Tim Daly won't actually be returning for the sixth season of the ABC medical drama, there are a few options for how Pete will say his farewell.

So what's the deal with Kurt this season on Glee? When is he going to New York? — Amy
NATALIE: Not right away. Kurt will still be hanging out at McKinley High in the season premiere, but it sounds like producers won't waste any time getting him to the Big Apple and... on his way to a career in fashion? In the third episode of the season, he'll meet an eccentric editor at Vogue (not his new boss) who'll recognize his (other) potential.
