Dancing with the Stars I think...

Dancing with the StarsI think I was the only person in the office who didn't watch this over the summer, and I regretted it for months, so I had high expectations here tonight. The only problem is, it seems like the show's producers have decided that everyone else watching was a fan of the first season, so we got very little explanation of how the celebrities and partners were matched up, how long they had to learn their dances, what dances to expect in the coming weeks, etc. How about a little bit of love for the new people here? Master P says he got all the people in the 'hood to watch! OK, I'll cut to the dancing right away, like the show did: George Hamilton and Edyta Sliwinska: I thought George would be pretty good, since he's older and maybe da read more

The Office So this is the new...

The Office So this is the new arrangement, then? The Office moves to Thursdays and commences with an entire half-hour of breaking my heart? One more gut-wrenching look of longing from Jim and I'm gonna make a special weekend trip to Lake Wallenpaupack myself, just so I can jump overboard. (But not like the guy who thinks the boat's pulling a Titanic and reasonably decides to make a break for it; my plunge would have a little more "Goodbye, cruel sitcom world!" panache.) The romantic atmosphere aboard the booze cruise — and a snorkel shot or two — finally persuades Pam's fiancé, Roy, to set a wedding date, and it's the straw that breaks the lovesick camel's back. Not only does our adorably twitterpated Jim break up with his hottie ex-cheerleader of a girlfriend (an always e read more

MORE BROKEBACK LOVIN'

Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain, which this past weekend posted the highest per-screen average ($13,599 per theater versus, say, $9,305 for King Kong) of any film in release, has been awarded top honors — including best picture, director, screenplay and cinematography — by the Florida Film Critics Circle. Capote's Philip Seymour Hoffman and Walk the Line's Reese Witherspoon were named best actor and actress, while Cinderella Man's Paul Giamatti and Junebug's Amy Adams won the supporting categories. read more

Apprentice ''Good Girl'' Gone Bad?

Over the past two weeks, The Apprentice's golden girl, Amy Henry, has quietly stood by as co-star Katrina Campins single-handedly dragged her good name and reputation through the mud in the press. Well, now that Amy's been evicted from Trump Tower — The Donald fired her and sometime sweetie Nick Warnock on last Thursday's show — the 30-year-old Southern belle is free to strike back. But first, we gotta ask her what she did to p--s off another Apprentice diva — Trump's bespectacled media-relations lieutenant, Norma Foerderer.
TV Guide Online: Norma had it out for you! Which one of her snarky remarks stung the most?
Amy:
The — "She's bubbly and energetic and has perfect teeth, but she's annoying" — comment was the harshest. (Laughs) I thought I had a good interview with her.

TVGO: What did you do that rubbed her the wrong way?
Amy:

Idol Chatter with Amy Adams

On last week's Motown-themed episode of American Idol, there were a number of performances that were pretty, um, awful. Amy Adams's spirited rendition of "Dancing in the Street" was most definitely not one of them. Yet the 24-year-old with the hot-pink hairdo was the singer kicked to the curb by fickle (and possibly tone-deaf) viewers. Is this a sign that the apocalypse is near? Or was the audience simply watching with the volume turned off? Desperate to achieve some closure on this embarrassing chapter in the talent competition's history, TV Guide Online rang up the Gen-Y Celine Dion to trade conspiracy theories. TV Guide Online: Let's start with the most ridiculous incident in your time on the show. Please tell me you've recovered from Simon Cowell's bizarre remark about your "resemblance" to Jay Leno.Amy Adams: (Laughs) You know what? It wasn't even really a recovery thing that I had to go through. It was just something that I had to read more

Idol Star Mulls Makeover

Here's a puzzler for American Idol fans: Could the two finalists who emerged from Group 3 be any different? First, there's LaToya London, 25. She's a stylish, class act — that shoulderless white pantsuit was flawless — who can actually control her voice. (A definite advantage over her mostly tone-deaf rivals.) Then, there's Amy Adams, 24. Now, girlfriend can really sing, too — but whassup with that multicolored hair? TV Guide Online called Adams to dish about her 'do, plus indulge in other Idol gossip. TV Guide Online: Were you surprised America picked you as a finalist?Amy Adams: It was weird that the judges predicted it would be LaToya and Leah [Labelle]. Then, America voted for me instead! TVGO: How did you take Simon's criticism?Adams: Simon said, "I think you have a really good voice, b read more

Leo Catches Hooters Alum

Want proof that up-and-coming starlet Amy Adams, who currently can be seen playing Leonardo DiCaprio's Southern sweetie in Catch Me If You Can, has indeed arrived? The media is scouring her closet for skeletons! Luckily, the biggest scandal the press has been able to dredge up was Adams's brief stint as a waitress at busty restaurant chain Hooters. But as the Colorado native laments to TV Guide Online, the only thing controversial about that gig was that she managed to land it in the first place! "We can all get the irony of me working at Hooters," laughs the actress, glancing down on her modest bosom. "All of the girls there were [much more]... enhanced. "I was never really good at it," she adds of the job, which she scored shortly after graduating high school. "I could never really manipulate the tips out of the customers, and I wasn't good at flirting." Adams, whose credits include The read more
