The Bachelorette is back! It feels like it was just yesterday that we watched Ashley and J.P. find love and now it's time to join Emily as she searches for her happy ending. Will her season end in another proposal for her? Time to find out.
We re-meet Emily and hear her story about getting engaged to NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick, who died a few months later in a plane crash. Shortly after his death, Emily found out she was pregnant and is now raising her 6-year-old daughter Ricki. Although Emily's engagement to previous Bachelor Brad Womack ended, she still believes in the process and hopes to find love again.
To all of you who wanted someone fresh: sorry. Ben Flajnik is the new Bachelor, ABC announced Tuesday.
"I'm extremely happy [with the choice]," host Chris Harrison told TVGuide.com.
Should Ben be the next Bachelor?
Our top moments of the week:
12. Most and Least Self-Aware: On the perplexing season finale of Ryan & Tatum: The O'Neals, the estranged father and daughter have a wrap-up therapy session in which they (very speedily, thanks to a suspicious edit) appear to reconcile — just one episode after their big blowout in Washington, D.C. "It would be terrible not to have her in my life. I know, because it has been," Ryan says. "I was always...
This week's episode of Bachelor Pad showed that while some contestants will do anything for money, some will give up everything for love. Host Chris Harrison talks to TVGuide.com about Ames' grand exit to be with Jackie, his new love who was eliminated at the end of the episode. Plus: Harrison explains a component to the challenge viewers didn't see, how Vienna tried to stage a walkout and why next week's challenge is both the funniest and saddest in Bachelor history.
Even in the heat of August, there's still some trash that just smells like roses.
Oh come on, you know you love it. Ever since ABC announced that it was bringing back last summer's Bachelor Pad, fans of the dating-and-mating series have been salivating over the drama being drummed up for round 2. After all, just the reunion of notorious exes (and famewhores) Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi was enough of a reason to toss aside your rational thought and take a peek. Would she cry? Yes. Would he try to excuse his hateful behavior during their televised break-up? Over and over. Would the rest of the house be able to compare? You betcha...
While J.P. may seem like the front-runner on The Bachelorette, Chris Harrison says that bumps are ahead for him and Ashley. In this week's chat with Harrison, he dissects each of the dates, talks about Ames' upcoming stint on Bachelor Pad, and hints that next week one of the guys may not choose to forgo their individual room to stay with Ashley in the fantasy suite.
Jake Pavelka, Vienna Girardi
The Bachelor Pad premiere is going to be a whopping three hours, host Chris Harrison tells TVGuide.com.
"I would never say this about any TV show because I honestly don't think any TV show deserves to be three hours, but I don't even know if three hours is enough for Bachelor Pad," Harrison says. "ABC looked at the footage and can't believe it ... That just goes to show you how good and mind-blowing it's going to be."

On this week's The Bachelorette, Ashley and her four remaining men head back to the U.S. for hometown dates. First up is Constantine, who introduces Ashley to his big fat Greek family in Atlanta. So he takes her to his restaurant which is, of course, Italian? The two make pizzas and eat — and share a kiss -- as the restaurant staff watches from afar.
On this week's episode of The Bachelorette, Ashley and the men go to Taiwan where she decides who will travel back to the States and introduce her to their families.
Constantine receives the first one-on-one date for the week and the two head to a village outside of Taipei. There they make a love wish with a lantern that they'll set free. Ashley loves how seriously he takes the activity. During the dinner portion of the date, Ashley tells Constantine that not only is he physically what she's attracted to, but that she loves that he holds back and is a family man. They end the night with a kiss and watch all the lanterns heading up to the sky.
When Bachelorette host Chris Harrison told us the men would unravel after learning Ashley had spoken to Bentley, he wasn't exaggerating. Not only did many of them get mad, but Mickey left the show. Although he thinks Ashley miscalculated how the men would react, Harrison also feels that they blew it out of proportion. Keep reading for more about this week's episode, including Ames' unexpected kiss and Mickey's "mistaken" exit, plus an update on Brad and Emily.
