Ana Ortiz, Sarah Jessica Parker
Producers and costume designers are always thrown a curveball any time their leading ladies announce they are expecting — but the real challenge is camouflaging those baby bumps.
For Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz, wardrobe and some strategic camera work has been the key to hiding her bundle of joy. "I have been carrying bowls of popcorn around, Easter baskets and all kinds of things," Oritz told TVGuide.com at Ugly Betty's Paley Center panel. "For me, it's easy as pie. For everyone else, they have to maneuver!"
But while some expectant mothers are all but unnoticeable on-camera, others are just plain obvious. Check out our list of some of the best and worst attempts of hiding real-life pregnancies on TV.

Conan O'Brien
On this fair St. Patrick's Day, we thought we'd share a list of Irish people we'd love to share a pint with.
Conan O'Brien

House, Jennifer Morrison
After the Felicity haircut debacle years ago, shows seem to be much more aware of how fans feel about the way their favorite actors look. But, even actors want a change every now and then: Jennifer Morrison on House went from brunette to blonde and How I Met Your Mother's resident redhead cut her bangs and dyed her hair brown. How important is hair to your favorite character's identity?

Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan
On the day the news broke that How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders is expecting her first child (with actor-boyfriend Taran Killam) — and this just weeks after Alyson Hannigan announced her own premiere pregnancy — series cocreator Craig Thomas issued a statement touting the hitcom's apparently fertile workplace.
"Everyone's tremendously excited by all the impending motherhood here at How I Met Your Mother. We're all so happy for Cobie and Aly, who will undoubtedly be amazing moms!" said Thomas. The exec producer then added, "And now, a public service announcement: If you're trying to start a family, please come visit the set of How I Met Your Mother. Just come by and hang out ...

About four years ago, Buffy writer Jane Epstein dabbled with the idea of creating an animated series chronicling her The Slayer's high school days at Sunnydale High where several of the original cast members, including Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon and Anthony Head, lent their voices to reprise their roles. Though the show never quite came to be, four minutes of the aborted series is now sweeping the internet. And we apologize in advance for opening old wounds with this video. Your take: Do you think this series had potential or were they right to slay it so soon?

The night was Awe. Some.Nearly the entire How I Met Your Mother gang (minus Jason Segel, who is busy shooting a movie) congregated at McGee's in NYC aka the inspiration for the sitcom's McClaren's. Cozying up with each in a booth (and maybe the occasional adult beverage...), I sought out scoop on all things Mother. Here, I will embed the video of Neil Patrick Harris, who ponders the Barney-Robin hookup and their possible future, the Britney aftermath and more. Links to my sit-downs with Josh, Cobie, Alyson and a pair of producers will follow. I hope you enjoy, because it was one of my most fun outings here ever!More from the Mother gang:• Josh Radnor on Sarah Chalke, fans getting Lost-like crazy and more.• Alyson Hannigan on dissing me for three years straight(!), Lily and Marshall's next hurdles (a baby, maybe?) and more. • Cobie Smulders on dressing to kill, getting "tipsy" to play Robin Sparkles and more.• Exec producers Carter Bays and Pamela Fryman on....

Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders and Alyson Hannigan by Alexandra Wyman/WireImage.com
The cast of How I Met Your Mother put the "work hard, play hard" philosophy into action Thursday night as they celebrated the premiere of their spring season and St. Patrick's Day at the Palihouse Hotel in West Hollywood. Stars Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Bob Saget wrapped up a milestone week of filming with pop diva Britney Spears and turned out in their red carpet finery ready to par-tay. Jameson Irish Whiskey cocktails flowed, Irish-themed hors d'oeuvres (including mini corned-beef-and-cabbage tarts, whiskey wings, and mini shepherd's pies) were passed around, and Segel dished about Brit-Brit's acting chops. "She has really good comedic timing," he said. "Her improvs were really good. She was into it and very funny." Segel also discussed his moonlighting as a big-time Hollywood writer when he's not working on HIMYM. "I'm writing the script to the next Muppet movie," he said. "The fact that I have been sitting in front of my computer ...

A day late and perhaps a dollar short on top of that. But nonetheless, I would be remiss if I did not share my resolutions for 2008. Such as: The consensus is deafening and I cannot ignore it any longer. Though I have never seen a single episode, nor do I have the opportunity to "catch up" with previous-season DVD sets, I resolve to watch The Wire when it returns this week. Provided that the strike ends... someday... and we start getting new How I Met Your Mothers, I resolve (again!) to finally track down Alyson Hannigan for a Q&A. The sometimes groanworthy Private Practice? I resolve to stick it out through the end of the season. I resolve to do whatever is within my meager yet undeniably increasing powers to get 30 Rock's audience into the seven mil range. As managing editor of this fine site, I resolve to shout from the mountaintops, in the loudest manner possible using HTML, the resolution of the WGA strike once it arrives. I resolve to de...
