Week 16 certainly began like nothing we've ever seen or experienced before in the history of the show. The contestants all threatened to leave the ranch! Apparently they heard the past players of the season would get to compete for one slot in the finale. The remaining contestants thought that it wasn't fair to them and wanted to leave. After several discussions between the lawyer, producers, Bob and myself, Jeremy, Conda, and Kim decided to stay. Buddy and Mark left which was really disappointing to me.

This week's Biggest Loser episode opened with my Red Team (RT) joining the Black Team (BT) in the elimination room after the BT sent Daphne home. They all were told that they would be heading home the following day for 18 days and then return for a weigh-in! I thought this was the perfect time to put their habits to the test.

Some selective highlights and mini-reviews to get you through the long holiday weekend:
WEDNESDAY
Last week, she was a hapless office assistant on Up All Night. Tonight, in the same time period on a different network, she's an insufferable sibling who makes Thanksgiving a chore, as Saturday Night Live vet Molly Shannon shows off her range, playing Frankie's demanding sister Janet on ABC's The Middle (8/7c). A holiday visit to Frankie's mom and dad (Marsha Mason and Jerry Van Dyke) becomes a recipe for disaster: "Stir in one broken toy, one passive-aggressive sister and let stew overnight ... Take unresolved issues and soak in alcohol." Frankie insists that "Everybody in one house is what makes holidays special," but anyone who's ever spent the festivities sleeping on an air mattress will relate to this first-rate episode.

Jerry Lewis
The annual Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon wasted no time in offering a tribute to its longtime host, Jerry Lewis, and potentially defusing any backlash or disappointment with his absence.
Jerry Lewis won't host this year's telethon
After a dance performance opened the show, Lewis' replacements — Nigel Lythgoe, Jann Carl, Alison Sweeney and Nancy O'Dell — took the stage and immediately took turns talking about the comedian/filmmaker's five-decade commitment to raising money for a cure. Huge photos of Lewis at various stages of his career served as a backdrop on stage as they talked.

In May, the 85-year-old comedian-filmmaker announced that the Sept. 4 show was going to be his last. But the Muscular Dystrophy Association abruptly and briefly announced Lewis would no longer be its national chairman — or be on the upcoming Labor Day fundraiser, as he has for some five decades.
