Alison Lohman Fast Facts:

First professional role was in a local production of The Sound of Music, where she played Gretl, one of the von Trapp children.
At 11 won a best actress award from the Desert Theater League for the title role in Annie.
As a teen, sang with Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope.
Was honored with a National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts award.
Offered a scholarship to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, but decided to pursue acting in Los Angeles instead.
Shaved her head to play a leukemia patient in 2002's Dragonfly only to have her scenes cut from the film.
Wore wigs throughout White Oleander because her hair had not grown back from her Dragonfly role.
Complete with pigtails, told director Ridley Scott she was 14 at her Matchstick Men audition; eventually confessed her true age of 23 but got the teen part anyway.
