Four friends, one monkey and a dead guy... A lot can change in a night.
Bobby Stork, a beer guzzling widower, runs into his old friend Mark Van Houton, an out of work doctor who has resorted to making crystal meth to pay the bills. Bobby discusses Mark's problem with their mutual friends Laith Rukkab, an uptight guy who's packed on a few pounds but somehow lucked into landing a pretty girl friend and Hutto, a soon-to-be father and the most together out of the four. The friends decide to give Mark the throwing stars they played with as kids to bring him back to reality.
Laith is outraged when he finds out Mark has been selling crystal meth to Reed, a drug dealer involved in animal porn. On their way to drop off the throwing stars at Mark s house, Laith and Bobby happen to pass by Reed s car, filled to the brim with his actors. Laith can t pass up the opportunity and frees the animals, loosing a throwing star in the process.
The break-in and loss of his animals sets Reed off and i watch

Sarah Nolan (Diane Lane) is a kindergarten teacher in her mid-thirties who is still dealing with the emotional aftermath of her divorce eight months ago. While her sisters, Christine (Ali Hillis) and Carol (Elizabeth Perkins), both think Sarah needs to start dating again, Sarah herself isn't so sure. Carol decides to force the issue by posting Sarah's photo and profile on an Internet dating site, and soon a number of seemingly eligible bachelors are sending her e-mails in hopes of a date. However, nearly every man she meets turns out to be a loser, with the exception of Jake (John Cusack), who is smart, good looking, and even brings along a dog for their walk in the park (though he doesn't tell her the pooch was borrowed for the occasion). However, Sarah also makes the acquaintance of Bob (Dermot Mulroney), the divorced father of one of her students, and she finds herself having to choose watch
