Before becoming a full-time comic, worked for his family's human resources business, where Madrigal says he fired more than 1,500 people.
Won a jury award for best stand-up comedian at the 2004 US Comedy Arts Festival.
Landed his first series-regular role on the short-lived CBS sitcom Welcome to the Captain; later starred in the network's Gary Unmarried.
