Adrian Pasdar, Heroes: Will Nathan Kill to Keep His Secret?

Adrian Pasdar, Heroes

Here comes the bride. This week on NBC's fantastically popular Heroes (Mondays at 9 pm/ET), viewers will finally meet the thus-far (and conspicuously) MIA wife of Adrian Pasdar's political contender, Nathan Petrelli. (Just Shoot Me's Rena Sofer fills the bill as Heidi, the Mrs.) Might the arrival of his better half shed new light on Nathan's secret "ability," to fly? Or might her presence instead only introduce new questions? Surveying the marrieds' obviously fractured relationship, Pasdar tells TVGuide.com, "It was predicated on what I think is a common understanding of what it would take to be a politician's wife, and all the things that go along with that. And love, of course, factored in, heavily — in the beginning." (Suddenly, Nathan's read more

Thanks for your first review ...

Michael C. Hall, Dexter

Question: Thanks for your first review of Dexter. You asked yourself if it's the first serial-killer hero on TV. Do you remember Profit with Adrian Pasdar as the new vice president of a multibillion-dollar conglomerate? He wasn't a real serial killer, but all his actions to get power were pure evil. Your review made me think of this (first?) evil hero. I know people didn't flock to the series, but it became a real cult show (even if all the episodes weren't aired — thanks, DVD!). Do you think the audience is now ready to care about that kind of character? Answer: I think it's probably wise that Dexter is airing on a pay service like Showtime, where none of those tiresome my-morality-should-be-your-morality watchdog groups will have any impact. In my circle of colleagues, even those with stronger constitutions were pretty much creeped out by this show, though all agree that Michael C. Hall is astonishing as the deeply disturbed Dexter, who preys on bad guys who've slipped through the ... read more

Insider Buzz on Fall's New Shows

Onetime West Winger Matthew Perry stars on Aaron Sorkin's Strip.

Television's new fall lineups won't be unveiled until May, but Hollywood is already making predictions about which pilots will become full-fledged shows. Here are some projects that are generating heat. Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip NBC has penciled in this drama from West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin about the backstage doings of a famous sketch-comedy show à la Saturday Night Live. Sorkin's mighty pen, and a cast that read more

I'm trying to decide what was...

I'm trying to decide what was crazier – the scantily clad Gabrielle seducing Adrian Pasdar just to see if he'd take the bait and then rejecting him or Susan tearfully running into the street wearing a wedding dress as Mike breaks up with her in front of all her neighbors. Desperate housewives, indeed. When Susan's mother first had the wedding dress on, I couldn't help but think of Cinderella. Lesley Ann Warren will always be Cinderella to me. It was hilarious when she thought Mike was there to pop the question to Susan. Wrong question. Of course it had to be Paul Young who told Mike that Susan gave Zach money to leave town. Loved the scene where all the neighbors were outside freaking out because Paul was back and the police were there. Best line was Edie's: "I win — I made out with him." Pretty sad that it took a $900 suit to make Lynette a better marketing exec, but I liked when she bought her hubby golf clubs with carbon-fiber shafts just so he read more

At last! A poker-game scene with all the housewives together. Well, all but Lynette, who certainly had her hands full. Taking her crabby boss Nina out every night to the pickup bar certainly was taking its toll. At least getting Nina laid temporarily resolved her crabbiness problem. Loved when Lynette finally came out of her shell, showing us what a sexpot Felicity Huffman actually is. Her transformation scene totally reminded me of Sandy at the end of Grease. I was waiting for her to say, "Tell me about it, stud!" And I must say I love Joely Fisher on this show. Her comedic talents weren't exactly up to their potential on Ellen since she sort of had to play the "straight" man, even when Ellen wasn't out yet. While I'm on the subject of loving, I'm also loving Adrian Pasdar as David, Gabrielle's lawyer. That man has really aged well since the underrated Profit. Maybe being mar read more

OK, is Bree's son gay? Or was...

OK, is Bree's son gay? Or was he lying the same way ABC did with their promos for this "surprising new Housewives"? Because I don't trust either. Nor should any of us after an hour so shock-anemic that Susan's totally uncharacteristic decision to buy Zach out of town — and away from the chronically underused Mike — almost passed for plot development. And don't even get me started on all the sex gags. We all know I'm no prude, but really, having Andrew describe the sound of his own mother's climax to tick off creepy George is just tacky, and the Solis' battle to win a conjugal visit felt forced, like the whole thing was cooked up to introduce the horny new lawyer headed for Gaby's bed. (Welcome back, Adrian Pasdar. Good luck with that one). At least Lynette finally got some stuff worthy of Felicity Huffman. Though again, I refuse to accept that our working mama's parenting skills are so schizo that her answer to Parker's separation anxiety would inv read more
