Adele Jergens

A clever, self-parodic version of the Aladdin tales has Aladdin (Cornel Wilde) trying to win the heart of Adele Jergens (Princess Armina). Nothing goes right for him until he discovers the magic lamp that houses the genie (Evelyn Keyes). She, in turn, falls for her new master and successfully thwarts his would-be royal romance.

Punkin Crick resident Josie Berry (Dinah Shore) dreams of building an exciting life in the big city, and she thinks she may get her shot when she gathers a large sum of money. But the guy who adores her, hillbilly Aaron Slick (Alan Young), sees trouble ahead. Two crooks, Bill Merridew (Robert Merrill) and his supposed cousin, Gladys (Adele Jergens), are on the lam and are trying to swindle Josie out of all her cash.

Abbott and Costello portray private detectives in this fast-paced comic thriller. Recent detective school graduates Bud and Lou are minding their new business when accused killer Tommy Nelson (Arthur Franz) bursts into their office. Proclaiming his innocence, he convinces the two to get him to his beautiful fiancee Helen (Nancy Guild). Just as the police arrive to investigate, Tommy injects himself with invisibility serum being developed by Helen's uncle. Nelson convinces Lou to go undercover as a boxer to help flush out the real killer. With Nelson's unseen assistance, Costello reluctantly goes into the ring as "Lou the Looper" for one of the most hilarious fight sequences ever filmed.

Private detectives Bud and Lou try to prove an invisible prizefighter innocent of his manager's murder.
