When local hoodlum Charlie Gubbons is killed during their rough sexual play, Lynn Fiore, the wife of a police inspector, claims that he was an intruder and she was forced to shoot. However, suspicious after finding a pornographic videocassette at the scene, Nick asks Natalie to look for anything unusual about Charlie's death. Even though Nick points out inconsistencies in her story, Stonetree is certain Lynn is telling the truth and insists the investigation be closed. Tracing the tape to a video rental shop, owner Morton Dolitchsky says it was returned by a woman who claims she found it in a parking lot. Then, learning that Gubbons had been seen at the Fiore's apartment building on two other occasions, Nick gets a warrant to examine the video store's records and to question Dolitchsky. Upon finding the slugs that killed Gubbons in a spot inconsistent with Lynn's explanation, Nick tells Stonetree that he doubts her story. watch

As the captain is demanding that the case be closed, Lynn suddenly arrives to change her statement and admits to knowing Gubbons, leaving Nick insisting that she couldn't have pulled the trigger. After Dolitchsky admits to being paid by Lynn's husband to cover for Lynn, Stonetree returns to see the Fiores, but is kidnapped as he tries to bring them in for questioning. While Lynn is picked up driving the captain's car, at a lakeshore warehouse Fiore admits to killing Gubbons. Traced by Knight to the warehouse, Stonetree is able to escape his chains before being shot and wounded, as Nick stops Fiore from committing suicide and finally arrests him for Gubbon's murder. watch
