Dean and Sam track down a lead in Kearney, Mo., where grudges are serious business; their pal Garth turns out to be the new Bobby; and Sam and Dean have the opportunity to do some venting...with their fists.
Wow, I thought the title of this episode was "Southern Comfort." There wasn't much comfort going on at all. Well, Garth did his best, but by the end of the hour, I needed a shot of Southern Comfort to calm my nerves.

In "Blood Brother," writer Ben Edlund and director Guy Bee delivered Benny's vampire origin story plus some more backstory for the Purgatory crew as well as a Sam that was figuring out how to live life out of the business and all alone. It's also the episode where Sam finally met Benny.
I don't know about you guys but I was expecting a big Sam and Dean rager over Dean's new bud, Benny. That didn't happen...yet. However, Sam's face wasn't looking too happy at the end of the episode.

"Bitten" is one of those very special episodes Supernatural likes to throw at us every once in awhile ("Ghostfacers," anyone?); an episode that abandons the regular format and tries to accomplish something different. This time around, Sam and Dean find an edited video that tells the tale of how three friends made the transformation from college students with exams, love lives and insecurities into werewolves.

The latest Supernatural is an episode in which the brothers Winchester go to an actual farmer's market, they investigate a case involving an actual monster of the week, and they do so while voicing their opinions on the present and the future.
I know I need to talk about the case and the fact that Jensen Ackles gave us his best-directed episode yet. I will touch on those topics, but first I need to talk about the brothers. "Heartache" gave us plenty Winchester quality together time. However, they spent that togetherness time with their mindsets in different places. Very different places.

Cas wakes up from his coma, but is he the same angel we know and love? There's a new, (highly reluctant) player that gets introduced into the action. He's young and nerdy and has no choice but to enter the weird world of the supernatural. Sam and Dean have to rely on a super genius computer hacker to get a jump on Leviathan leader, Dick Roman. Plus, Bobby deals with the ins and outs of being a ghost and trying to put a lid on his more vengeful urges. That's going to be hard considering he ends up in enemy territory.
Well, still no Impala (boo!), but at least we've finally reached the point of the season when the myth arc takes front and center. There have been little Leviathan bits doled out here and there...
