The City Episode Recap: "The Truth Hurts"

On this week's The City, Allie gets hit with the cold, hard truth, and Erin decides it's time to go out and get herself a job. At lunch, Erin tells the girls that everything is just amaaaaazing because Whitney is working at DVF, Sammy got that Bergdorf job, Allie is modeling and Erin has been busy, uh, organizing her closet? Whitney tells her that if she wants to work on a career, it's time to do something about it. Allie then offers to hook her up with her manager Scott, who's in the process of hiring. Then Whitney brings up a big birthday party coming up for Kelly Cutrone. After last week's fiasco with the BF, Allie says, "I'm there, girl's night out, I need it." read more

The Biggest Loser: Couples Episode Recap: "Week 5"

It's official: Six players are back on the ranch and ready to help their partners compete for the $250,000 prize. Rejoining we've got Aubrey (yellow), the mother of five; Laura (green), a former model; Shannon (pink), who's been overweight her whole life; Cathy (Purple), a recovering alcoholic and smoker; and Carla (silver). Bob reminds his team that they have to stay on course after hitting big numbers last week, while Jillian tells her team that they really need to fight because they're outnumbered and Bob is notorious for not allowing his teams to vote one of their own. Although I can't see Jillian doing that either.

One Tree Hill Episode Recap: "Screenwriter's Blues"

This week's episode felt like a classic One Tree Hill thanks to a job well done by director Bethany Joy Galeotti. Lucas finally began casting his movie, and with all of the actors running lines and auditioning, it made me nostalgic for Season 1. Not only were there some funny moments, but also some surprising ones as well, as we were reminded that there's a sweet side to our evil Dan and bad boy Julian. read more

It's Time for Tree Hill's Bethany Joy Galeotti to Call the Shots

Bethany Joy Galeotti

On screen, she's known as Haley James Scott on the CW's One Tree Hill (Mondays, 9pm/ET). But for this week's episode, Bethany Joy Galeotti stepped behind the camera, to call all the shots as Lucas finally gets to cast his movie. TVGuide.com caught up with Galeotti to find out what it was like to direct her castmates and see someone else play Haley. Plus: Why did her favorite Tree Hill moment involve Chad Michael Murray and ... a water balloon?

TVGuide.com: How did the idea to direct come about?
Bethany Joy Galeotti:
I have a tendency in the creative world to just go for things; it's how I've been my whole life. So it was probably during the fourth season when I said, "I wonder if I'd be any good at directing? Let me get a script and break it down and see how I'd do at that." So I did, and gave the script to our producer, Greg Prange, who said I did a really great job. About two years went by and I didn't hear anything and I thought, "Oh, maybe he was just being nice." But then I got a phone call this season, and he said...

The Biggest Loser's Dan on Life After the Ranch

The Biggest Loser, Daniel Wright

At 454 pounds, Daniel Wright was the heaviest contestant in Biggest Loser history. He quickly proved that he was in it to win it -- if only his partner, David, had felt the same. Instead, David made it clear that he would rather continue his weight-loss journey at home. Just one week shy of the return of the at-home contestants, Daniel was voted out. TVGuide.com asked the 19-year-old student about his favorite healthy recipe and how it felt to have a "5 foot-nothing" woman terrify him. The Biggest Loser: Couples airs Tuesdays at 8pm/ET on NBC.

TVGuide.com: How did it feel to find out that while you were working your butt off at the ranch, Dave was at home eating fried foods and smoking?
Dan Wright:
I know how hard it is to try to [lose weight] at home. I've tried for years and I haven't been successful yet. So my heart was just hurt knowing that he was going through the same struggles that I had been going through a month earlier.

TVGuide.com: What's the biggest lesson you learned on the ranch?
Wright:
To understand what food is, and to put it in its place. I use it as a crutch. The ranch helped me realize that I can turn to completely different things — not just food.

TVGuide.com: Going back to that last work-out with Jillian, what was going through your head when you fell and she just kept screaming at you to get up?
Wright:
I was thinking that I'd like to be at home eating ice cream on my couch. What in the world?...

The Biggest Loser's Damien: "My Goal Weight Is 180, a Sexy 180"

Damien Gurganious, Biggest Loser

When Damien Gurganious and his fiancée Nicole stepped on to the Biggest Loser ranch, they had their sights set on slimming down and getting sexy before their upcoming wedding. But a first-week twist sent Nicole packing, leaving Damien to fight for the prize and a chance to bring her back to compete. Week 3 saw his shocking elimination after being in the bottom two with Joelle, who most thought would be the one to go. TVGuide.com caught up with Damien to see what life is like back home with Nicole, how he plans to reach his goal weight ("my goal is 180, a sexy 180"), and what he learned from his time on the ranch. The Biggest Loser: Couples airs Tuesdays at 8pm/ET on NBC.

TVGuide.com: Whose idea was it to apply for the show?
Damien Gurganious:
Nicole actually set me up. One day I [was working at] home and she kept talking to me. The Amazing Race was on, and she turns to me and goes, "Would you be up to doing a reality show?" Just so she'd shut up, I said yes, and went back to work. Would you believe the next frickin' day, we saw a commercial for Biggest Loser auditions in Rockefeller Center? She looks at me, like, you said yes! We ended up going down at 5 in the morning, waiting in line for two hours, and the rest is history.

TVGuide.com: Do you have a pre-wedding diet plan that you're trying to follow?
Gurganious
: Right now, there are only three things that we actually follow:

The City Episode Recap: "Boys Night Out"

When the girls are away, the boys will play — and boy did Adam really live up to that one. This week's episode of The City began with a nice little double date between Whitney and Jay, and Adam and Allie. Jay and Adam are roommates, and Allie is his model girlfriend who now lives with them as well. Like Whitney, she too is a California girl, but NYC is now home for her and she doesn't miss the sun and sand whatsoever. read more
