10 Questions with The Sing-Off's Nick Lachey

Nick Lachey

Fans mourning Glee's winter hiatus have something to look forward to: NBC's The Sing-Off (premiering Monday at 8/7c). Nick Lachey hosts the four-night a cappella singing competition that features eight groups battling for a $100,000 prize and an Epic Records/Sony recording contract. Judging The Sing-Off are Ben Folds of Ben Folds Five, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men and Pussycat Dolls lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. spoke to Lachey about the show and why his hosting gig has made him miss 98 Degrees. What sets The Sing-Off apart from the rest of the singing shows out there?
Nick Lachey: This is an a cappella competition so there's no band, no background music — it's just about the human voice. There's a lot of extra pressure that goes along with that, but at the same time when it's done well it's even that much more impressive to hear a great a cappella performance.

The City's Whitney Port Defends Jersey Shore

Whitney Port

The City star Whitney Port says MTV's latest reality phenomenon, Jersey Shore, is about entertaining, not offending.

Italian-Americans have complained about the series, which features eight tanned, hard-partying, self-declared "guidos" and "guidettes"  as they drink, dance, hook up, and, with varying work ethics, try to sell T-shirts. Two advertisers have backed off.

At the launch of Tacori's new fashion jewelry collection 18K925, Port told that although the show features over-the-top stars, "you could say that about any reality show."

The Biggest Loser Episode Recap: Finale

The Biggest Loser - Alison Sweeney

After months of sweat and, of course, tears, the remaining Biggest Loser contestants will step on the scale for one final weigh-in. In tonight's two-hour live finale, either Amanda or Liz will join Danny and Rudy to compete for the $250,000 prize, while the rest of Season 8's competitors will reveal their transformations as the at-home winner is determined. So let's get to recapping!

After watching some clips of that first and dreadful mile run-walk from Week 1, Alison introduces the finale scale. Dun-dun-dun!

This past week, votes have been cast to decide if Amanda or Liz would be the third finalist to compete for the title. Out on stage first is Amanda, strutting her stuff as her old self is transposed next to her. Alison asks her how she feels in a dress, something she often avoided, and Amanda simply says, "I feel beautiful."

Liz comes out next looking wonderful in orange. After a short commercial break, Alison announces who America has chosen. And that person is... Amanda! It's only fitting that the woman America chose during Season 7 to compete this season, was also chosen by America to be the third finalist.

It's time for the at-home players to reveal their fitter selves and see who will take home $100,000. Here is everyone's stats after weighing in:
